Angelina Jolie who will be playing Sleeping Beauty villainess Maleficent in a movie that tells the story from her point of view. Disney released a production photo of the actress in makeup as the character she'll be playing. Who says a picture is no longer worth a thousand words. Thumbs up.

"Iron Man 3" began filming and the first photos from from the set have already shown up on the internet. The movie is currently filming in Wilmington, North Carolina. Production schedule locations include Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; Miami, Florida; and China. One of the photos caused an internet rumor explosion regarding a potential villain in the movie. The photo of a red, white, and blue suit of armor sparked rumors that comic book villain Norman Osburn would be in the movie as "The Iron Patriot". However, Marvel Studios revealed that the armor is instead a version of the "War Machine" armor worn by the character James Rhodes played by Don Cheadle. The most persistant rumor is that Tony Stark/Iron Man will head to China to face one of his toughest comic book villains... "The Mandarin".

On the heels of the release of DC Animated movie "Superman vs. The Elite", one of the special features on the deluxe DVD and Blu-ray revealed that the next DC Universe animated movie is a two-part adaptation of the award winning graphic novel "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns". The graphic novel inspired the look and feel of Tim Burton's "Batman" movie and changed the whole comic book industry. The featurette seen here is a preview of what we can expect.

Fans of the Marvel Universe show "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" howled in anger and disgust at the news that Marvel is cancelling the series to launch another Avengers series more closely related to the movie. The current series is such a pitch perfect animated show featuring characters that aren't seen in "The Avengers" movie or any Marvel movie. Ant Man, The Wasp, and The Black Panther have yet to be in any movie, yet these characters are a huge part of Avengers comic history and an integral part of the show. Will these characters show up in the new series or will they be sacrificed to make way for a more movie oriented show, instead of a show that fans of the comics really enjoy. Also, the current story line is a brilliant mash-up of the "Kree-Skrull War" and "The Secret Invasion" comic book story arcs. The new series entitled "Avengers Assemble" doesn't have an air date as yet, but the demise of the successful and really brilliant "Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes" is apparently a done deal. Pity. It was the only reason I personally watched that Marvel Universe block on Disney XD. That "Ultimate Spider-Man" show is way too goofy for me.I mean really, Power Man and Iron Fist as teenagers; and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Don't even get me started. The late lamented "Spectacular Spider-Man" series was a much better incarnation. Oh well. We're just the fans, it's not like our opinions matter. Take a look at scenes from this fan made video complete with the theme song that originally opened the show. 'Nuff said.
