Neil Armstrong: The First Man to Walk on The Moon has died at 82. He inspired a generation by turning science fiction into science fact and his iconic words will always live on ..."One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".

"Resident Evil: Retribution" finally arrives theatres on Sept.14 and this one promises to outshine the previous versions. Now that would be quite an achievement. I'm already impressed by what I've seen in the trailer and I can hardly wait to see what surprises they have in store for us.

On a sad note the death of director Tony Scott June 21, 1944 - August 19, 2012. His movies just too name a few were "Top Gun", "The Hunger", "True Romance", "Days of Thunder", "Enemy of the State", "Man on Fire", "The Taking of Pelham One,Two, Three", and his last film "Unstoppable". The production company he shared with his brother director Ridley Scott, "Scott Free" produced popular television series like "Numbers" and "The Good Wife". He had a very clear vision of what he wanted to create on film and it usually was better than he even imagined. He was definitely a great creative talent and he will be sorely missed.

"The Avengers" sequel will open in theaters May 1, 2015. The sequel which will also be written and directed by Joss Whedon is already more highly anticipated than its predecessor. Especially, when you consider the rampant speculation regarding which new characters may make a surprise appearance in the next movie.

One of the all-time great comic book artists has passed away at the age of 85. Joe Kubert founder of the Kubert School and an influential comic book icon. He was best known for his work on Sgt.Rock, Hawkman, and Tarzan. He will be missed.

In this age of digital effects and computer generated animation, it is surprising to see a new movie that uses stop motion animation. What's even more surprising is that the movie effectively uses stop motion animation and looks amazing. The new movie "ParaNorman" which opens Friday uses labor intensive stop motion photography and looks as good or better then movies that relay on glitzy computer generated animation.  Enjoy the trailer.

"Avengers Assemble" the animated series slated to replace "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" is now being referred to as a sequel to the departing show instead of an out and out reboot. That remains to be seen. "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" is a pitch perfect series based on the comic book. This approach to pandering to the movie audience while alienating the true fans of the comics and the characters is counterproductive, and let's be clear, that's why "Avengers Assemble" was initially touted as a reboot. There is a lot of concern about the fates of characters like "Ant-Man", "The Wasp", and "The Black Panther" who currently have no presence in "The Avengers" movie, but are strongly represented in "Avengers: Earth's Mighiest Heroes". Only time will tell if the new show can even hold a candle to the what clearly is an awesome animated series.
