Weekend Box Office:  "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" the eight chapter in the "Star Wars" saga was number one with $450 million, "Ferdinand" the family-friendly animated movie was number two with $13.3 million, and Disney/Pixar's "Coco" the animated feature about boy's adventure to the "Land of the Dead" was number three with $10 million.

                                                                                 

Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time" is scheduled for theaters on March 9, 2018. Director Ava DuVernay brings to life the popular classic novel by Madeline L'Engle. a young girl's epic adventure as she is led by three celestial guides on a journey across time and space. "Ready Player One" is scheduled to arrive in theaters March 30, 2018. Directed by Stephen Spielberg and based on the worldwide bestselling novel by Ernest Clines. The movie features Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts a young man who joins a virtual reality treasure hunt in The Oasis, an expansive virtual reality universe created by James Halliday. The virtual reality treasure hunt becomes a hectic race to the finish filled with mysteries, discoveries, and all too real danger.  

                                                                                   

"The Mortal Engines" from producer Peter Jackson and director Christian Rivers comes a movie of a dystopian future where the cities move around on giant wheels. In order to survive, they travel around the now desolate Earth attacking and devouring the smaller towns to replenish their resources. Weekend Box Office: Disney/Pixar's "Coco" the animated feature about boy's adventure to the "Land of the Dead" was number one for the third week in a row with $18.5 million, "Justice League" the DC Comics superhero team in their first movie outing was number two with $9.7 million, and "Wonder" the family-friendly drama starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jason Tremblay was number three with $8.4 million.

                                                                                 

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. The much-anticipated follow-up to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is ready to make its debut. The story of the new conflict of Jedi vs.Sith promises to take you on a wild ride full of twists and turns that will leave you excited and breathless.

                                                                               
                                                                             

"Jurrasic World: Fallen Kingdom" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 22, 2018. Owen and Claire return to the island to rescue the dinosaurs. The island has become unstable and is ready to erupt. The mission turns into a fight for survival as the island begins erupting and raining lava sending the dinosaurs into a frenzy.

                                                                              

Marvel's "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on March 8 exclusively on Netflix. Jessica returns to the work she feels best suited for, but the biggest mystery of her life comes back to haunt her. The closer she gets to finding out the truth about the origin of her superpowers the more danger she attracts. Business as usual for this hardboiled, hard drinking, superpowered private eye.

                                                                          

Alita: Battle Angel" is scheduled to open in theaters on July 20, 2018, Producer James Cameron and director Robert Rodriguez join forces to breathe life into this classic anime character. Based on the manga series "Gunnm" by Yukito Kishiro and adapted into a screenplay by James Cameron, Laeta Kalogridis, and Robert Rodriguez. The cast features Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keean Johnson.

                                                                    

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is scheduled to open in theaters Christmas 2018. From Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel offers a glimpse at "a different universe where more than one wears the mask". Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("21 Jump Street", "The Lego Movie") using their unique talents provides us with a fresh look at the Spider-Man Universe and introduces us to Brooklyn teen Miles Morales who inherits the mantle of Spider-Man.

"Black Lightning" premieres Tuesday, January 16 on the CW. Nine years after leaving the superhero biz behind to concentrate on his family, Jefferson Pierce returns to crimefighting as Black Lightning. Weekend Box Office: Disney/Pixar's "CoCo" the animated tale about a young aspiring musician adventure "Dia de Los Muertos" was number one with $71 million, "Justice League" the first movie featuring the DC Comics team of superheroes was number two with $63 million, and  "Wonder" the family-friendly drama starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jason Tremblay was number three with $32 million.

                                                                               

"The Shape of Water" is scheduled for theaters this Friday. The new movie from director Guillermo del Toro is a tale that takes place during Cold War era 1962 America. The story of a lonely mute young woman named Elisa, played by actor Sally Hawkins, who works in a top secret government laboratory.  When she and her co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment that shatters her usual mundane routine and irrevocably changes her life.

                                                                                  
                                                                                   

Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War" is coming and the first trailer has finally arrived. Weekend Box Office: "Justice League" featuring the DC Comics team of superheroes was number one with $96 million, "Wonder" starring Owen Wilson, Julia Roberts, and Jason Tremblay was number two with $27 million, and Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk was number three with $21.8 million. 

                                                                                       

Disney-Pixar's "Coco" is scheduled to open in theaters this Wednesday. The story of a boy named Miguel who travels to the land of the dead on "Dia de Los Muertes". An adventure he undertakes to see his ancestors and especially his great-grandfather a famous musician who Miguel wishes to emulate.

                                                                          
                                                                     

"Rampage" is scheduled to open in theaters on April 20. The movie is based on the video game Rampage and starring Dwayne Johnson. A genetic experiment turns George, a gentle silverback gorilla into a raging beast of enormous size and sends it on a rampage along with other similarly affected creatures. In a race against time, Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) must find an antidote and save George and manage to halt the rampage.

                                                                            

"Crisis on Earth-X" the 2-night crossover event begins next Monday, November 27 at 8/7c on The CW. Nazi's attack during the wedding of Barry and Iris and the heroes must team up to repel an invasion from Earth X, an extradimensional Earth where the Allies lost WWII.

Weekend Box Office: Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk was number one in its second weekend with $56.6 million; "Daddy's Home 2" the comedy sequel starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Farrell was number two with $30 million, and "Murder on the Orient Express" based on the novel by mystery author Agatha Christie debuted at number three with $28.2 million.

                                                                        

"Justice League" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. The silver screen debut of the popular DC Comics superhero team featuring Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg has finally arrived. Batman inspired by Superman's selfless sacrifice and with his faith in humanity restored, puts together a team of metahumans to face the invasion that's he knows is coming. Marvel's "The Punisher" debuts this Friday on Netflix with all episodes streaming. Following his debut on Marvel's "Daredevil" Season 2 and continuing in his own Netflix series, Frank Castle continues his pursuit of justice for his murdered family in his own inimitable style. Now known as The Punisher, he continues his one-man crusade against those who terrorize innocent and law-abiding citizens.  

                                                                   

"Downsizing" is scheduled to open in theaters on December 22. This speculative comedy starring Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau and Kristen Wiig imagines a world where shrinking people down to combat overpopulation is a reality. Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk was number one with a record-breaking $121 million, "A Bad Moms Christmas" the sequel to the hit comedic 2016 movie "Bad Moms"  was number two with $17 million, and "Jigsaw" the latest installment in the "Saw" movie franchise was number three with $6.7 million. 

                                                                                       

"Murder on the Orient Express"  is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. Based on the bestselling novel by Agatha Christie and featuring Kenneth Branagh as detective Hercule Poirot. "Justice League" is scheduled to open in theaters on November 17. The first live action movie featuring the popular DC Comics team of superheroes will follow the events of "Batman v. Superman: The Dawn of Justice". Batman along with his new ally, Wonder Woman gathers a team of metahuman to combat an invasion force bent not only on world conquest but on the devastation and destruction of the entire planet.

                                                                              

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" is scheduled to open in theaters on Dec 20, just in time for Christmas. In a follow up to the hit 1995 movie, the game turns the tables on four teenagers in detention by sucking them into the world of Jumanji. Pulled into the game by way of an old video game console with an unfamiliar game, they find themselves in a jungle setting in the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillian. They must play by the rules in order to get free or be stuck in the game forever. A Madea Halloween" starring triple threat creator Tyler Perry was number two with $10 million, and "Geostorm" the disaster style movie starring Gerard Butler debuted at number three with $5.6 million. 

                                                                                         

Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" is scheduled to open in theatres this Friday. The game-changing prelude to the Avengers Infinity War will feature Thor allied with his Avengers teammate The Hulk, The Valkyrie, and his adopted brother Loki against Hela, the Goddess of Death. Marvel's "The Punisher" will premiere November 17 on Netflix. Marvel's "Black Panther" is scheduled to open in theaters on February 16, 2018. Following his stunning debut in 2016's Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War", Chadwick Boseman reprises his role as Prince T'Challa a.k.a The Black Panther.  Pledged to protect his home Wakanda, the hidden and insular African nation which has now been thrust onto the world stage. "The New Mutants" is scheduled to open in theaters April 13. Based on the comic series that was a spin-off of "X-Men" and featuring students of the Xavier School that were learning to use their powers as a team on less threatening missions than those of The X-Men. However, the series began to explore darker territory than the main book and that seems to be the focus of the movie based on this trailer. Weekend Box Office - "Blade Runner 2049" starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford the sequel to the 1982 movie "Blade Runner" was number one with $31.5 million, "The Mountain Between Us" based on a novel by author Charles Martin and starring Idris Elba and Kate Winslett was number two with $10.1 million, and "IT" based on the bestselling novel by horror author Stephen King was number three with $9.6 million.


                                                                                      

"The Foreigner" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. Jackie Chan stars in a movie that is a dramatic departure from his usual comedic roles. The movie tells the story of a London businessman who loses his daughter in a senseless act of politically motivated terrorism. Weekend Box Office: "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" the much-anticipated sequel to "Kingsman: The Secret Service" was number one with $16.975 million, "IT" based on the bestselling horror novel by author Stephen King was number two with $16.93 million, and "American Made" starring Tom Cruise and based on a true story debuted at number three with $16.758 million.

                                                                                       

"Blade Runner 2049" scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. From executive producer Ridley Scott and director Denis Villeneuve, taking place thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling) discovers a secret that sends him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford). A former LAPD blade runner who went missing thirty years ago. "Tomb Raider" is scheduled to open in theaters but that date has yet to be announced. The latest movie adaptation of the highly successful Square Enix video game franchise stars Oscar winner Alicia Vikander as Laura Croft the titular Tomb Raider. This movie will be an origin story detailing how she became the famous as the Tomb Raider.
