"Avengers Assemble" which is supposed to be a follow-up to the highly popular series  "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes", although that remains to be seen. This new series at least, closely follows or ties into Marvel's "The Avengers" to capitalize on the film's success, which is what it was designed to do. The series is scheduled to premiere on July 7, 2013, with a 1-hour preview of the series airing on May 26.

Opening this week, Director J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek Into Darkness" the second of a trilogy of reimagined Star Trek movies. The movie opens Thursday and promises to be bigger and better than the first in the series. They have already done bigger numbers in England and other International markets than the previous movie.

Due in large part to the success of "Marvel's The Avengers" and the fact that Disney, Marvel, and ABC television are one big happy family. The movie's director Joss Whedon has produced a new series for ABC "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."  featuring Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson. This show follows the events of the movie and references Coulson apparent demise. I have great hope for this show, mostly due to Whedon's involvement in the project.

This is the week is the week for season finales, first up CW's hit show "Arrow" ends a successful first season. Instead of attempting to explain this action packed edgy show, I instead present the "sizzle reel" from the 2012 New York Comic Con.

"Doctor Who" ends another successful season with an episode that has created a whole lot of buzz with a simple title "The Name of The Doctor". There is a lot of speculation that this episode leads to the 50th Anniversary Special which premieres in England this coming November. We may get it a bit later. Here's the season finale trailer to fire your imagination.

Hugh Jackman will return to his signature character Wolverine in two upcoming movies "X-Men: Days of Future Past" which will blend the casts of "The X-Men trilogy" and "X-Men: The First Class"; and the very soon to be released "The Wolverine". This movie promises to make up for the very disappointing "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Logan meets the female ronin Yukio and returning to Japan where he meets her employer Yashida, a Japanese industrialist he saved as P.O.W. during W.W.II. Soon , he's embroiled in a conflict that involves the Clan Yashida, Silver Samurai, The Viper (Madame Hydra in the comics), and ninjas. To complicate matters, he's undergoing a treatment to remove his healing factor and the adamatium  to become "normal". This already sounds like a thrill a minute kick ass epic movie. Don't take my word for it. Check out this movie's trailer.
