Weekend Box Office -  "Don't Breathe" the suspense thriller opened at number one with $26.4 million, "Suicide Squad" featuring the DC supervillain team covertly working for the U.S.Government was number two with $12.2 million, and "Kubo and the Two Strings" the stop motion family friendly animated movie debuted at number three with $7.8 million.


                                                                               

"Morgan" will open in theaters this Friday. The sci-fiction/horror about a genetically engineered "human" housed in a secret research facility. After an incident the company behind the project sends a troubleshooter to assess the situation and determine if the project should be terminated. Unfortunately, the "project" has her own ideas. 

                                                                        
                                                                             

Marvel's "Luke Cage" the latest Netflix original series from Marvel Studios will debut on Sept.30 with all episodes streaming. Like its predecessors the show will be the nitty gritty side of the Marvell Cinematic Universe. The series will highlight Luke Cage struggle with his powers and the responsibility that comes with them; a responsibility he doesn't really want and yet is forced to come to terms with.

                                                                         

"The Flash" returns for its third season on Tuesday Oct. 4 on the CW Network. After the events of last season's shocking series finale. Barry realizes that his actions have created a temporal paradox and everything has changed in as a result. This season will explore the widespread ramifications of this in the television version of the popular "Flashpoint Paradox" storyline.

                                                                         

"Arrow" returns for its fifth season on Wednesday, Oct. 5 on the CW Network. Oliver is the mayor of Star City and he and Felicity the only remaining members after everyone else went their separate ways at the end of last season.In order to effectively carry out his duties as mayor and as the Green Arrow he has to bring on some new recruits.

Weekend Box Office - "Suicide Squad" the movie featuring the covert team of DC Comics supervillains working for the U.S. Government was number one for the third week in a row with $20.7 million, "Sausage Party" the R-rated CG animated movie was number two with $15.3 million, and "War Dogs" based on the true story about two stoners who became successful international arms dealers debuted at number three $14.3 million.

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" will open in theaters in January. The long awaited movie that will close the book on the zombie apocalypse brought about by the Umbrella Corporation. Alice (Milla Jovovich) returns to Racoon City and The Hive where the outbreak began for a final showdown against the combined forces of her nemesis the Umbrella Corporation.

                                                                                     
                                                                            
             
"xXx: Return of Xander Cage" is scheduled to open in theaters on January 20, 2017. Vin Diesel returns to the character he originated in the 2002 movie "xXx". Samuel L. Jackson also returns reprising his role as Agent Augustus Gibbons and looking less like a Nick Fury knockoff in the trailer than he did in the original movie. 

                                                                                

"Arrival" is scheduled to open in theaters on November 11,2016. The movie is a classic sci-fiction story of a first contact with an alien species that comes to Earth and the global reaction to their arrival. The upcoming movie stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker. 

                                                                                 

"Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" opens in theaters on October 21. Tom Cruise returns as the enigmatic Jack Reacher. In this movie he returns to Virginia to meet with the head of his former unit only to find that she's been accused of espionage and target by assassins. He decides to clear her name, get to men responsible, and put an end to the conspiracy in his own personal fashion.

Weekend Box Office - "Suicide Squad" featuring the covert team of DC Comics supervillains reluctantly working for the U.S. Government was number one with $43.7 million, "Sausage Party" the R-rated CG animated movie was number two with $33.6, Disney's "Pete's Dragon" the remake of the beloved Disney live action classic was number three with $21.5 million

                                                                                  

"Gotham" returns for Season Three on Sept. 19 on FOX. Season Two revealed Hugo Strange's experiments in the secret sub level laboratory under Arkham Asylum, his creation of super powered menaces that began plaguing Gotham City, Edward Nigma's continuing descent into madness and  his eventual incarceration in Arkham Asylum,as well as, the resurrection of Fish Mooney. "Lucifier" returns for Season Two on Sept.19 on FOX. Season One introduced us to Lucifer who became bored with his role and abandoned Hell to live in Los Angeles. He relishes in his new role as a popular club owner until a friend is murdered in front of him. This prompts the former Lord of the Underworld to team up with Chloe Decker, a Los Angeles police detective to solve crimes and bring the criminals to justice, or in Lucifer's mind exact punishment on the guilty. "The Flash" returns Tuesday, Oct. 4 on the CW. Last season, The Flash experienced a new universe and visited Earth Two. He also fought metahumans sent over from Earth Two by the villainous super speedster Zoom. After putting Barry through the wringer throughout the entire season, Zoom forced Barry to experience a devastating loss that lead to a shocking conclusion. The new season will focus on the aftermath of Barry's actions and the consequences of tampering with the timestream.

                                                                                   

"Arrow" returns Wednesday, Oct. 5  on the CW. Last season's action packed conclusion put an end to the villainy of Damien Darhk, but not until after his season long attempt to destroy Star City almost succeeded. The aftermath found Team Arrow reduced to Felicity and Oliver after the others went their separate ways. Season Five will focus on Oliver as The Mayor of Star City with the unenviable task of rebuilding the damage done by Damien Darhk and The Hive.The flashbacks will focus on how Oliver became involved with the Russian Mob as revealed in the first season. Weekend Box Office - "Suicide Squad" the action packed movie featuring DC Comics supervillains forced into working as a covert team for the U.S. Government broke previous August opening box office records was number one with $135.1 million, "Jason Bourne" starring Matt Damon in the role he has perfected was number two with $22.7, and "Bad Moms" the comedy starring Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell was number three with $14.2 million.

                                                                                

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is scheduled to open in theaters this November. The movie directed by David Yates ("Harry Potter" franchise) and written by "Harry Potter" series author J.K. "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" is scheduled to open in theaters on March 24, 2017. Director Guy Ritchie ("Sherlock Holmes","The Man from U.N.C.L.E.") brings his unique style to the King Arthur legend. Starring Charlie Hunnam as Arthur Pendragon and Jude Law as Vortigern. 

                                                                             

"Kong: Skull Island" is scheduled to open in theaters in March 2017. The producers of Godzilla (2014) unveil a original and new adventure featuring King Kong and the island of his origin. Starring Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly. 

                                                                                   

"Vixen" the trailer for the second season of this "Arrow" and "The Flash" tie-in animated web-series was recently unveiled at SDCC. Second season episodes will soon be available on CW Seed website alongside the first season that's currently available.

Weekend Box Office - "Jason Bourne" the action/thriller starring Matt Damon was number one with $59.2 million, "Star Trek Beyond" the action packed third movie in the updated franchise filled the number two spot with $24.7 million, and "Bad Moms" the comedy starring Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell debuted at number three with $23.8 million.


                                                                       

"Suicide Squad" opens in theaters this Friday. This long awaited addition to the DC cinematic universe introduces some of the DC Comics most notorious supervillains as a reluctant team of covert government operatives.The television spots like the one featured here have been very good at highlighting some very amusing scenes from the movie. However, the latest trailer which I featured here last week was the one unveiled at SDCC and was a non-stop blend of action and humor. 

                                                                                    
                                                                                 

Marvel's "Iron Fist" the upcoming Netflix original series which will follow Marvel's "Luke Cage" was unveiled at SDCC. The teaser gives us a glimpse at scenes from the upcoming show featuring Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist. 

                                                                         

"Legion" the upcoming television series from FX and Marvel Entertainment will debut in early 2017. Based on the Marvel Comics character from the pages of X-Men.The show features David Haller a young man diagnosed as schizophrenic and in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. However, David is actually a mutant and the voices he hears are other people's thoughts. 

                                                                          

"Batman: The Killing Joke" is available today in stores. The latest DC Universe animated movie is now available on Blu-ray/DVD. This is an adaptation of the best selling graphic novel from writer Alan Moore and artist Brian Bolland.
