Weekend Box Office: "The House With a Clock in Its Walls" the family-friendly horror movie starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett was number one with $26.8 million; "A Simple Favor" the stylized thriller starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick was number two with $10.5 million, and "The Nun" the latest movie in "The Conjuring" horror film franchise was number three with $10.2 million.

                                                                              

Marvel's "Daredevil" Season Three is scheduled to premiere on Netflix with all episodes streaming beginning October 19. Spoiler alert! Matt Murdock has survived the explosion and collapse of The Hand's skyscraper stronghold at the end of "The Defenders". The question remains how did he survive and how did he end up at in the care of the nuns? Did Elektra manage to survive, as well? "Smallfoot" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday, This family-friendly animated feature is directed by Karey Kirkpatrick and based on the book Yeti Tracks by Sergio Pablos. A classic myth is flipped on its ear in this tale of a promising young yeti whose world is turned upside down by the discovery of something he previously didn't believe existed - a human. News of the discovery of this "smallfoot" shakes up the small and secluded yeti community and stirs curiosity about what else may exist in the big world beyond their snowy village. Featuring the voices of Channing Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya, Common, LeBron James, Gina Rodriguez, Danny DeVito, Yara Shahidi, Ely Henry, and Jimmy Tatro.

                                                                              

Disney's "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreak-It Ralph 2" is scheduled to open in theaters on November 21. When the video game "Sugar Rush" needs a replacement part, Ralph (John C. Reilly) decides to take his friend Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) and travel to the internet hoping to find what they need in the ever expansive world wide web. Weekend Box Office - "The Predator" the movie from director Shane Black designed to reinvigorate the classic movie franchise was number one with $24 million, "The Nun" the latest movie in "The Conjuring" horror film franchise was number two with $18.2 million, and "A Simple Favor" the stylish thriller starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively debuted at number three with $16.1 million.

                                                                               

"The House With a Clock in It's Wall" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. A magical adventure begins for 10-year old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) when he goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a tick-tocking heart. Lewis unlocks a world of witches and warlocks and literally breathes new life into his new town's sleepy facade when he accidentally awakens the dead. Based on the children's classic by writer John Bellairs and artist Edward Gorey and brought to life by horror director Eli Roth and producer Eric Kripke (creator of the popular television series "Supernatural") and starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett with Kyle MacLachlan, Coleen Camp, Sunny Suljic, and RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry.

                                                                                  
                                                                                   

Marvel Studios' "Captain Marvel" is scheduled to open in theaters on March 8. Bree Larson is Captain Marvel in the highly anticipated movie that brings the superpowerful human-extraterrestrial hybrid to life in her movie debut. Set in the 1990's the movie details her crashing to Earth and her first meeting with a young Nick Fury bringing to life the reality of extraterrestrial life and the possibility of invasion by alien forces.

Disney's "Mary Poppins Returns" is scheduled to open in theaters on December 19. In this all-new original musical sequel based on the Mary Poppins Stories by P.L. Travers, Mary Poppins is back to help Michael and Jane Banks and the next generation of the Banks family. Starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins and an all-star cast featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury, and Dick Van Dyke. "Mortal Engines" is scheduled to open in theaters December 14. Adapted from the award-winning Scholastic book series by Phillip Reeve and directed by Christian Rivers. "Mortal Engines" tells the story of the civilization that exists thousands of years after a great catastrophe, where humanity has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly gobbling up smaller traction towns. Weekend Box Office: "The Nun" the latest spin-off and terrifying surprise hit in "The Conjuring" horror movie franchise was number one with $53 million, "Peppermint" the revenge action-thriller starring Jennifer Ganer was number two with $13.4 million, and "Crazy Rich Asians" the romantic comedy starring Constance Wu, Henry Golding, and Michelle Yeoh was number three with $13.1 million.

                                                                               

"The Predator" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. Director Shane Black revisits the science fiction-action-horror that he was an actor in. The Predators come to Earth to hunt the most dangerous game...man. Now they are stronger, smarter, and deadlier than ever before. "Suspiria" is scheduled to open in theaters on October 26. A re-imaging of Dario Argento's 1977 horror classic from director Luca Guadagnino. "Venom" is scheduled to open in theaters on Oct.5. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock an investigative reporter that gets in over his head. He becomes infected with an alien symbiote during an investigation of the company his girlfriend works for and discovers it is both intelligent and dangerous. Disney's "The Nutcracker and The Four Realms" is scheduled to open in theaters on November 2. Inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann's classic tale "The Nutcracker" the movie centers around Clara (Mackenzie Foy) and her discovery that a golden thread, presented to her by her godfather Drosselmeyer (Morgan Freeman) at his annual Christmas party, leads to a golden key that unlocks the doorway into another world.
