Weekend Box Office - "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" the first Star Wars movie spin-off from Disney/Lucasfilm was number one with $155 million, Disney's "Moana" the family friendly animated movie featuring the voices of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Auli'i Cravalho was number two with $12.7 million, and "Office Christmas Party" the holiday themed comedy starring an ensemble cast that features Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston was number three with 8.5 million.

                                                                         

"John Wick: Chapter 2" is scheduled to open in theaters on February 10, 2017. Keanu Reeves returns as John Wick, the legendary hitman who just wants to enjoy his retirement. After an attempt on his life that destroys his home, he discovers there is a contract out on him. He decides to go cancel the contract by killing the person who was the source of the contract, as well as anyone who gets in his way. Also starring Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Lance Reddick, John Leguizamo, Bridget Moynahan, and Lawrence Fishburne.

                                                                       
                                                                         

"Blade Runner 2049" scheduled for theaters October 6, 2017. The movie stars Ryan Gosling as K, a LAPD officer known as a blade runner whose job involves hunting rogue replicants -- artifical humans. He discovers a secret that leads him on a search to find a former LAPD blade runner, Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) who went missing 30 years ago.  

                                                                           

"Justice League Dark" from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation will be available on Digital HD beginning January 24, 2017 and on Blu-ray/DVD on February 7, 2017. The Justice League encounters a supernatural force that proves too much for even their combined powers. In order to combat this new threat, Batman forms a secondary league of mystical heroes that includes John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing, Etrigan the Demon, and Black Orchid.

Weekend Box Office - Disney's "Moana" the animated movie featuring the voices of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Auli'i Cravalho as "Moana' was number one for the third week in a row with $18.8 million, "Office Christmas Party" the holiday themed comedy starring an ensemble cast that features Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston was number two with $17.5 million and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." from author J.K. Rowling the creative mind behind the "Harry Potter" series was number three with $10.7 million,

                                                                              

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" opens this Friday. The prequel story to "Star Wars: A New Hope" details the mission to steal the plans to The Death Star. Felicity Jones stars as Jyn Erso the rebel leader who leads a ragtag group on a very dangerous and definitive mission for the Rebel Alliance. 

                                                                        
                                                                       

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is scheduled to open in theaters on July 7, 2017. Tom Holland made quite a splash with his debut appearance as Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War". We finally get our first trailer for the his upcoming solo film and the word that immediately comes to mind is spectacular. Peter Parker as a high school kid is the meat and bones behind the evolution of this character and how a high school science whiz evolves into a super hero is where this movie seems aptly focused.

                                                                   

"War of the Planet of the Apes" is scheduled to open in theaters July 14, 2017. The third installment in the franchise find apes and humans gearing up for a battle to decide the ultimate supremacy of one species. Andy Serkis returns as Caesar the leader of the ape uprising trying to head off a war that he knows is inevitable.

                                                                          

"The Fate of the Furious" is scheduled to open in theaters on April 14, 2017. The newest entry in "The Fast and Furious" franchise introduces Charlize Theron as a femme fatale who somehow turns Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) against the rest of the team...his family. This latest movie promises to be even more action packed and chock full of eye popping stunts than its predecessors.

Weekend Box Office - Disney's "Moana" the animated movie featuring the voices of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Auli'i Cravalho as "Moana' was number one with $28.2 million, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." from author J.K. Rowling the creative mind behind the "Harry Potter" series was number two with $18.1 million, and "Arrival" the sci-fi alien first contact drama starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker climbed back into the number three spot with $7.2 million.

                                                                               

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled to open in theaters May 2017. The sequel to the highly successful Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" will be full of surprises, especially since the movie's plot, with the exception of a few details, is still shrouded in secrecy. Starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket, and Vin Diesel voicing Baby Groot. Also returning, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Michael Rooker as Yondo, Sean Gunn as Kraglin and Glenn Close as Nova Prime. "The Mummy" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 9, 2017. The latest of update of the classic Universal monster is an epic action/adventure that stars Tom Cruise. Also starring, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Russell Crowe, and featuring Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet - The Mummy.

                                                                         

"Transformers: The Last Knight" is scheduled to open in theaters June 23, 2017. Director Michael Bay brings us the fifth installment in the action/adventure franchise. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock, Isabella Moner, Stanley Tucci, and John Turturro.
