Believe it or not, Superman recently turned 75 and he never looked better. Since his first appearance in Action Comics #1 back in June 1938, he has gone through many changes, upgrades, and incarnations. From his humble beginnings in the comic that introduced him to his latest incarnations in several comic titles and on the silver screen. The character that captured the imagination of a post-Depression generation has endured the decades and has become more popular and relevant than ever before.

Tom Cruise returns to movie theaters in another sci-fi action film that brings to mind the Bill Murray comedy "Groundhog Day", if you remove the alien invasion, death and destruction, impending doom for the human race, and a kickass, armored battle suit wearing Emily Blunt.  Otherwise, it's exactly like that other movie.

Mary Shelley's classic novel "Frankenstein" has inspired a plethora of movies and even other books about her famous creation. This latest movie is perhaps another take on one of the most brilliant literary creations ever.

Angelina Jolie has taken a character who was perhaps one of the most memorable of all the Disney villains and added her own unique twist."Maleficent" brings the villainous sorceress from "Sleepy Beauty" to life in a live action movie that tells her side of the famous story tale.

There's a lot that's been said about remaking an iconic movie like "Robocop", but if this trailer is any indication of what the movie will be like, I'm already on board. Don't take my word for it, check out the trailer for yourself.

"Frozen" coming to theaters this Thanksgiving from Disney animation is the typical type of Disney story that we've seen before, and yet somehow they manage to make it not only entertaining, but downright fun. Check out the trailer and see if you agree.

"The LEGO® Movie", the first big screen movie offering from the LEGO®, A brand which is know worldwide for the many and diverse building sets they produce, arrives in theatres sometime in 2014. The movie does not look at all like CG animation, it actually appears to be stop motion animation. That would be completely cool!

"The Hunger Games" Catching Fire" the sequel to the hit movie "The Hunger Games" arrives in theatres on Nov.22. Like most sequels, this one promises to deliver more of what made the previous movie a success. On the basis of what I've seen in the trailer they may actually live of to that promise.

Leave it to DreamWorks Animation to give us an updated version of Mr. Peabody and Sherman brought to us in state of the art CG animation. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie not just for nostalgic reasons, but because it really looks like a lot of fun.

The Marvel movie to follow the soon to be released "Thor: The Dark World"

Another recently released trailer that I have been waiting for with baited breath is "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Bryan Singer, director of the first and second X-Men movies returns to the franchise and incorporates the casts of the X-Men franchise with the cast of the prequel "X-Men: The First Class", as well as, adding some faces by introducing some popular characters from the comic books. Brace yourself.

The newest DC Animated movie to be released on DVD/ Bluray is "Justice League: War" the origin story for DC Comics The New 52 relaunch. This is both the origin story for The New 52 version of The Justice League and the characters first time meeting each other. While this is not a literal adaptation of the actual graphic novel this animated movie looks to be as exciting and entertaining as the actual illustrated story was. Check it out and enjoy.

"Ender's Game" is based on the bestselling book by Orson Scott Card that started out as a short story in a science fiction magazine. However, I'll bet that this movie is as much fun as its predecessor.

"Thor: The Dark World"  comes to theatres on Nov.8 and this movie will really highlight what happens to Loki and Thor after the events of "The Avengers". I am really looking forward to the movie and what it will reveal as we move towards the sequel of  Marvel's "The Avengers".

Director Joss Whedon ("Marvel's The Avengers") version of the famous Shakespeare play is a fresh and innovative take on one of the famous playwright's brilliant comedies. "Much Ado About Nothing" retains the language of the play in a modern and contemporary setting using many of the directors notable actors and filmed in black and white. Worth checking out even if you don't like Shakespeare. Heaven forbid.

"The Tomorrow People" the upcoming CW network show brought to us from the producers of "Arrow" and "The Vampires Diaries". Also just released on DVD/Bluray is Season 8 of  "Supernatural", one of the most intensely kickass, horrifyingly fun shows on television. I suspect that the only reason that a show this edgy and unflinching badass is still on network television is that despite being a really good action horror series is that it also has a huge cult following.

Available today on DVD/Bluray is Brad Pitt's zombie action film "World War Z". Perhaps it should be an action zombie film especially since these zombies are not your usual slow lumbering ghouls as you can see in this trailer.

"Sleepy Hollow" the new Fox television series from the writers and producers of "Star Trek" debuted last night and since J.J. Abrams is said to be involved expect this show to have some legs.
