Weekend Box Office - "Magnificent Seven" the action/adventure western starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt was number one with $35 million, "Storks" the family friendly CG animated movie from Warner Bros.Animation was number two with $21.3 million, and "Sully" the based on a true story movie starring Tom Hanks as the title character was number three with $13.8 million.

                                                                               

Marvel's "Luke Cage" will premiere on Netflix with all episodes streaming beginning this Friday. The long-awaited series spinning off of the character's appearance on Marvel's "Jessica Jones", also on the streaming channel. For those following the Marvel series on Netflix look forward to seeing a familiar face or two, not to mention a bunch of Easter Eggs. Since these characters exist in the same shared universe and in some cases the same city and you can expect their lives and stories to overlap. 

                                                                              
                                                                                  

"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" opens in theaters this Friday. Director Tim Burton brings to life the bestselling novel by author Ransom Riggs. The movie stars Eva Green as the titular Miss Peregrine, also starring Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett,with Judi Dench and Samuel L. "The Flash" begins a new season next Tuesday, Oct.4 on the CW. The season begins with Barry experiencing the aftermath of his tampering with the timestream. Everything thing has changed and Barry will face his biggest challenge yet, the one change he may not want to happen, forgetting that he was ever The Flash. 

                                                                                    

"Arrow" begins a new season next Wednesday, Oct.5 on the CW. Oliver settles into his role as the mayor of Star City while balancing his crime fighting as The Green Arrow. However, with most of Team Arrow having gone their separate ways, he realizes he needs a team to support him, now more than ever. He decides to build a new team recruiting vigilantes who he himself inspired.

Weekend Box Office -  "Sully" based on the hero of 'The Miracle on the Hudson' and starring Tom Hanks was number one with $21.6 million, "Blair Witch" the spiritual sequel to the 1999 movie "The Blair Witch Project" was number two with $9.5 million, and "Bridget Jones Baby" starring Renee Zellweger reprising her role as the titular Bridget Jones debuted at number three with $8.5 million.


                                                                          

"Magnificent Seven" opens in theaters this Friday. The retelling of the 1960 movie classic "The Magnificent Seven" updated for a new generation by Director Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day","The Equalizer"). Featured as the seven are Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Martin Sensmeier. Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." the new season premieres tonight at 10 pm ET on ABC. The new season picks up where last season left off. Former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Daisy Johnson is now the outlaw Inhuman known as Quake, and being hunted by her former teammates and almost every law enforcement agency. Now a new player has entered the field and the two are on a inevitable collision course. The newest Ghost Rider - Robbie Reyes makes his television debut and takes the show's action and adventure to the next level.

                                                                       

"Supergirl" starts a brand new season Monday, Oct.10 on her new network The CW. The series makes its debut with all new episodes and introduces to the show The Man of Steel, also known as, Superman. "Supergirl" takes its place as part of the CW Network's All-Star DC Superhero line-up and debuts the following week after the new season premieres of "The Flash", "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow". 

                                                                       

"Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders" will be available in Digital HD on Oct. 11 and on Blu-ray/DVD beginning Nov.1. The feature length animated movie from Warner Bros.Animation and DC Entertainment does a retro take on Batman with an animated version of the iconic sixties television series. Featuring the voices of Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar reprising their characters from the original series.

Weekend Box Office - "Sully" the untold story of the publicly celebrated hero behind 'The Miracle on The Hudson' starring Tom Hanks was number one with $35.5 million, "When the Bough Break" the suspense/thriller starring Morris Chestnut and  Regina Hill was number two with $14.2 million, and "Don't Breathe" the suspense/thriller starring Stephen Lang was number three with $8.2 million.

"Underworld: Blood Wars" the latest installment in the "Underworld" franchise opens in theaters on Jan.6, 2017. Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as Selene the Vampire death dealer. Caught in the middle of the eternal war between the Lycans and the Vampires and fending off attacks from both, she decides it's time to put an end to the war to which has cost her so much, regardless of the sacrifice she must make, even her own life. 

                                                                        
                                                                             

"Magnificent Seven" opens in theaters on Sept.23. Director Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day","The Equalizer") brings his unique style to a classic story. Seven mercenaries comprised of bounty hunters,outlaws,hired guns and gamblers are hired by townspeople desperate to save themselves and their way of life from a ruthless industrialist. While preparing the town for the showdown with the army of bandits headed their way, the seven mercenaries realize they are in this fight for something more important than the money.

                                                                          

"Supergirl" begins her sophomore season Monday,Oct.10 on her new network The CW. Melissa Benoist stars as the girl of steel, Supergirl in all new adventures as a part of the CW Network's all-star DC Superhero line-up. You can catch all of last season's episodes on Blu-ray/DVD or now streaming on Netflix, especially last season's crossover episode "World's Finest" guest starring Grant Gustin of "The Flash". Expect even more crossovers to follow this season now that the shows are on the same network.

Weekend Box Office. "Don't Breathe" the suspense thriller remained at number one with $15.7 million, "Suicide Squad" starring the DC supervillains as a covert team coerced into working for the U.S. Government was number two with $10 million, and Disney's "Pete's Dragon" the remake of the beloved 1977 live action family classic climbed back into third place with $6.4 million.

                                                                           

"Max Steel" the live action version of the two very popular CG animated television series from 2001 and 2013. The movie tells the story of teenager Max McGrath's close encounter with the extraterrestrial Steel and his evolution into the superhero Max Steel.

"Gotham" returns with a new season on Monday Sept.19 on FOX. This upcoming season will deal with the aftermath of last season's finale. The city will now have to deal with the consequences of the various products of Hugo Strange's experiments being unleashed on the city.  

                                                                  

"Supergirl" has moved from CBS to its new home on the CW, and the new season starts on Monday,October 10. This season will also introduce Superman to the supporting cast. Actor Tyler Hoechlin will don the cape and costume as Superman.

                                                                      

DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" returns for a new season starting Thursday,Oct.13 on The CW. This season will feature a whole new mission and guest appearances from a host of other DC characters.
