Weekend Box Office - Disney/Pixar's "Finding Dory" the long awaited sequel to "Finding Nemo" was number one with $72.9 million, "Independence Day:Resurgence" the sequel to the 1996 hit movie "Independence Day" debuted at number two with $41 million, and "Central Intelligence" the action/comedy starring Kevin Hart and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was number three with $18.2 million.   


                                                                       

"Legend of Tarzan" opens on Friday. The movie is based on the legendary character created by author Edgar Rice Burroughs. Directed by David Yates and starring Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan and Margot Robbie as Jane. Also starring Samuel L. "The Purge: Election Year" opens on Friday. The third installment in the series finds Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) protecting presidential front runner Senator Charlene Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell).The two find themselves targeted on the night of the annual Purge and must survive until dawn on the most murderous night of the year.

                                                                          

Disney's "The BFG" open this Friday.The story of an unlikely friendship between a girl named Sophie with a big imagination and a giant who is an outcast among other giants for kind and gentle nature. This live action movie is based on the classic children's book by author Roald Dahl and brought to life by director Steven Spielberg.

                                                                           

"The Secret Life of Pets" opens on July 8. This family,friendly animated film is from the same people that brought us the "Despicable Me" animated films and focuses on what pets are up to when their owners are away at work. Directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2) and featuring the voice talents of Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks.

Weekend Box Office -  Disney/Pixar's "Finding Dory" the long awaited sequel to "Finding Nemo" was the number one movie with $135 million, "Central Intelligence" the action/comedy starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart debuted at number two with $35.5 million, and "The Conjuring 2" based on the files of renowed real life demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren was number three with $14.8 million.


                                                                             

"Independence Day: Resurgence" opens in theaters this Friday. The sequel 20 years in the making features the grudge match of the century. The aliens return to settle the score on the anniversary of their defeat at the hands of the human race. "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" opens in theaters on Sept. 30. Weekend Box Office - "The Conjuring 2" based on the files of real life renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren was number one with $40.3 million, "Warcraft" based on the popular "World of Warcraft" online game was number two with $24.3 million "Now You See Me 2" the sequel to the sleight of hand laden "Now You See Me" was debuted at number three with $23 million.

                                                                                

Disney/Pixar's "Finding Dory" opens this Friday. Dory the blue and yellow tang with short term memory loss remembers her parents. With the help of her friends, Marlin and Nemo she sets out on an adventure to find her parents.

                                                                               
                                                                           

"The Legend of Tarzan" opens in theaters on July 1. The movie is directed by David Yates and starring Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan/John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke  and Margot Robbie as Jane Porter. Having left the jungles of Africa behind, John Clayton III formerly know as Tarzan is now living in England and has settled into the life as a British nobleman with his wife Jane. Lured back to Africa by sinister forces as part of a deadly plot intended to kill him, The Lord of the Jungle must confront his past and embrace his destiny.

                                                                                   

"Independence Day: Resurgence" opens in theaters on June 24. The sequel to the 1996 blockbuster "Independence Day" picks up 20 years after the original with the Earth facing a brand new invasion. The aliens return more powerfully than before and the only hope lies in the ingenuity and determination of the human race to survive.

                                                                                 

"The Purge: Election Year" opens on July 1. The third movie in the series focuses on former police sergeant Barnes (Frank Grillo) from "The Purge: Anarchy", who now heads up the security detail for Senator Charlene Roan ( Elizabeth Mitchell). Senator Roan, an outspoken opponent of The Purge and front runner in the next presidential election is targeted by those who want to continue The Purge in order to maintain the status quo.

Weekend Box Office - "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows" the sequel to director Michael Bay's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was number one with $35.3 million, "X-Men: Apocalypse" the latest installment in the X-Men franchise was number two with $22.8 million, and "Me Before You" the romantic drama that stars Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin was number three with $18.7 million.

"Warcraft" opens this Friday. The movie is based on the highly popular online role playing game "World of Warcraft" by Blizzard Entertainment. "Now You See Me 2" opens this Friday. The sequel to the successful "Now You See Me" continues the story of The Four Horseman, who fall prey to a trap that forces them into the service of a unethical tech billionaire Walter Mabry( Daniel Radcliffe). The much maligned reboot  from director Paul Feig ("Bridesmaids","The Heat") featuring an all-female team of "Ghostbusters" has received little or no love from fans of the original. However, the backlash is working in the movie's favor generating a whole lot buzz and renewed interest, especially among those who may have never seen the original and wonder what all the fuss is about. All the negative publicity is turning into a free advertising win for Sony.
