Weekend Box Office:  "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" the eight chapter in the "Star Wars" saga was number one with $450 million, "Ferdinand" the family-friendly animated movie was number two with $13.3 million, and Disney/Pixar's "Coco" the animated feature about boy's adventure to the "Land of the Dead" was number three with $10 million.

                                                                                 

Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time" is scheduled for theaters on March 9, 2018. Director Ava DuVernay brings to life the popular classic novel by Madeline L'Engle. a young girl's epic adventure as she is led by three celestial guides on a journey across time and space. She will be called upon to examine the nature of light versus darkness in order to experience the triumph of love.
       
           
                                                                                   
                                                               

"Ready Player One" is scheduled to arrive in theaters March 30, 2018. Directed by Stephen Spielberg and based on the worldwide bestselling novel by Ernest Clines. The movie features Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts a young man who joins a virtual reality treasure hunt in The Oasis, an expansive virtual reality universe created by James Halliday. The virtual reality treasure hunt becomes a hectic race to the finish filled with mysteries, discoveries, and all too real danger.  

                                                                                   

"The Mortal Engines" from producer Peter Jackson and director Christian Rivers comes a movie of a dystopian future where the cities move around on giant wheels. In order to survive, they travel around the now desolate Earth attacking and devouring the smaller towns to replenish their resources. Weekend Box Office: Disney/Pixar's "Coco" the animated feature about boy's adventure to the "Land of the Dead" was number one for the third week in a row with $18.5 million, "Justice League" the DC Comics superhero team in their first movie outing was number two with $9.7 million, and "Wonder" the family-friendly drama starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jason Tremblay was number three with $8.4 million.

                                                                                 

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. The much-anticipated follow-up to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is ready to make its debut. The story of the new conflict of Jedi vs.Sith promises to take you on a wild ride full of twists and turns that will leave you excited and breathless.

                                                                               
                                                                             

"Jurrasic World: Fallen Kingdom" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 22, 2018. Owen and Claire return to the island to rescue the dinosaurs. The island has become unstable and is ready to erupt. The mission turns into a fight for survival as the island begins erupting and raining lava sending the dinosaurs into a frenzy.

                                                                              

Marvel's "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on March 8 exclusively on Netflix. Jessica returns to the work she feels best suited for, but the biggest mystery of her life comes back to haunt her. The closer she gets to finding out the truth about the origin of her superpowers the more danger she attracts. Business as usual for this hardboiled, hard drinking, superpowered private eye.

                                                                          

Alita: Battle Angel" is scheduled to open in theaters on July 20, 2018, Producer James Cameron and director Robert Rodriguez join forces to breathe life into this classic anime character. Based on the manga series "Gunnm" by Yukito Kishiro and adapted into a screenplay by James Cameron, Laeta Kalogridis, and Robert Rodriguez. The cast features Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keean Johnson.

                                                                    

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is scheduled to open in theaters Christmas 2018. From Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel offers a glimpse at "a different universe where more than one wears the mask". Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("21 Jump Street", "The Lego Movie") using their unique talents provides us with a fresh look at the Spider-Man Universe and introduces us to Brooklyn teen Miles Morales who inherits the mantle of Spider-Man.

Weekend Box Office: Disney/Pixar's "Coco" a young boy's special journey to the Land of the Dead was number one with $26.1 million, "Justice League" starring the DC Comics team of superheroes was number two with $16.5, and "Wonder" the family-friendly drama starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jason Tremblay was number three with $12.5 million.

                                                                                     

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is scheduled to open in theaters on December 15. "Pacific Rim: Uprising" is scheduled to open in theaters on March 23. Anew generation will take up the fight as a new breed of monstrous creatures emerges from the rift to invade our world. "Black Lightning" premieres Tuesday, January 16 on the CW. Nine years after leaving the superhero biz behind to concentrate on his family, Jefferson Pierce returns to crimefighting as Black Lightning. Using his superhuman abilities he intends to reclaim his community from the crime and corruption that has infested it.
