Weekend Box Office - Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" starring Johnny Depp who returns to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow was number one with $62 million, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" the highly successful sequel to Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" was number two with $20 million, and "Baywatch" starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron debuted at number three with $18.5 million.  

                                                                       

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. The movie features the iconic female superhero as she charges into action in this origin tale that details her heroic journey.  Director Patty Jenkins has assembled an all-star cast that consists of Gal Gadot as Diana/Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick, Elena Anaya as Maru/Doctor Poison, and Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff.  

                                                                                


DreamWorks Animation "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie" is scheduled for theaters this Friday. Based on the bestselling book series the movie features a host of A-list comedy superstars led by Kevin Hart and Ed Helms. The story of George and Harold, two incredibly gifted young pranksters who hypnotize their principal into thinking that he's a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants.

                                                                         

"Spider-Man:Homecoming" is scheduled to open in theaters on July 7.  Tom Holland stars as Spider-Man in his own movie following his dramatic debut in last year's "Captain America: Civil War". The movie focuses on Peter Parker whose normal routine is a balance between high school and his web-slinging activities as Spider-Man. However, following his experience with The Avengers he desires to prove himself to be the hero he believes that he can be and not just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. 

                                                                      

"Vixen" the animated superhero tie-in to "The Flash" and "Arrow", is now available online at the CW Seed website or through the app. The series stars Megalyn Echikunwoke as the voice of Vixen/Mari McCabe, Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, and Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in addition to other actors from the CW series providing the voices for their characters.

Weekend Box Office: "Alien:Covenant" director Ridley Scott's latest movie in the "Alien" franchise that he created was number one with $36 million, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" the highly successful sequel to Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" was number two with $35.1 million, and "Everything, Everything" the love overcomes adversity movie based on the young adult novel by author Nicola Yoon was number three with $12 million.

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 2. The iconic female superhero in her very first big screen movie starring Gal Gadot as Diana/Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. "Star Trek : Discovery" will make its debut this fall as a CBS All Access Original Series. "The Orville" is a new series scheduled to debut on FOX from executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane and Director Jon Favreau. "The Orville" is a series that combines the humor of Seth MacFarlane in a Star Trek style series. The one-hour science fiction series is set 400 years in the future and follows the crew of the USS Orville.  

                                                                       

"Black Lightning" is a new series coming soon to the CW. Nine years ago, Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) was gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, which he used to keep to keep the streets of his community safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. Weekend Box Office: Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2"  director Sean Gunn's highly successful sequel to his successful "Guardians of the Galaxy" was number one with $65.2 million, "Snatched" the comedy featuring Amy Shumer and Goldie Hawn was number two with $19.5 million, and "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" from director Guy Ritchie and featuring actor Charlie Hunnam opened at number three with $15.3 million

                                                                               

"Alien: Covenant" opens in theaters this Friday. Director Ridley Scott takes us back to the universe he created in the most horrifying fashion. The latest entry in the "Alien" franchise is a terrifying revelation for a group of colonists that the planet they've discovered is not the paradise they believed, but a horrifying descent into hell. Weekend Box Office: Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" director James Gunn's sequel to his highly successful "Guardians of the Galaxy" was number one with $146 million, "The Fate of the Furious" the latest high octane installment in the "Fast and The Furious" franchise was number two with $8.5 million, and "DreamWorks Animation's "The Boss Baby" featuring the voice of Alec Baldwin as the title character was number three with $5.9 million.

                                                                              

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 2. The upcoming movie will tell the story of how Diana, princess of the Amazons, left her island paradise to journey to the world of men to fight in the war to end all wars. Director Patty Jenkins brings the origin story of Wonder Woman to life on silver screen. "The Mummy" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 9. Marvel's "The Defenders" will debut on August 18 on Netflix. The series will bring together Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) from their respective Netflix series. The four individual members will realize that they must unite to accomplish their common goal - to save New York City. "Blade Runner 2049" is scheduled to open in theaters on October 6. From executive producer Ridley Scott and director Denis Villenueve comes a new chapter in the Blade Runner story and takes place thirty years after the events of the first movie. Weekend Box Office: "The Fate of the Furious" the latest film in the high octane  "Fast and Furious" franchise was number one for a third weekend in a row with $19.3 million, "How to be a Latin Lover", actor Ken Marino's directorial debut starring Eugenio Derbez and Salma Hayek was number two with $12 million, and  "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" a South Indian cinema production about India's ancient rulers and their family feud was number three with $10.1 million. 
     
                                                                                

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled to open this Friday. Director James Gunn's sequel to his highly successful "Guardians of the Galaxy" promises to deliver an adventure worthy of this ragtag team that has become a family to one another. "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" will open in theaters on July 21. This movie which is a passion project for director Luc Besson ("The Professional", "The Fifth Element") was born out his love for the French comic series "Valerian and Laureline". The ground-breaking comic book series which was first published in 1967 and subsequently released as a series of graphic novels has inspired a generation of artists, writers and filmmakers. 

                                                                                

Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is scheduled to open in theaters on May 25. Johnny Depp reprises his role as the pirate rogue Captain Jack Sparrow. "Transformers: The Last Knight" is scheduled to open in theaters in June, no scheduled date. Director Michael Bay's latest installment is another action packed epic that features a war between Humans and Transformers, Optimus Prime fighting against humanity, the Earth in peril of becoming transformed into a new Cybertron, and the only hope of survival exists in a legend form Earth's history.The movie's cast features Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock, Isabella Moner, Stanley Tucci, and John Turturro.
