Weekend Box Office:  "Aquaman" from director James Wan and starring Jason Momoa in a film based on the popular DC Comics superhero was number one with $67.4 million; Disney's "Mary Poppins Returns" the follow up to the classic Disney movie "Mary Poppins" and starring Emily Blunt was number two with $22.2 million "Bumblebee" the prequel movie to the "Transformers" movie franchise  was number three with $21 million.

                                                                                 

"Men In Black: International" is scheduled to open in theaters Summer 2019. Director F. Gary Gray continues the "Men in Black" movie franchise. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson star in this latest entry in the series that was originally inspired by the Malibu comic book series by Lowell Cunningham. "Hellboy" is scheduled to open in theaters April 12, 2019. Based on the Dark Horse comic book series by Mike Mignola when an evil sorceress bent on revenge goes on the attack, Hellboy will bring the fight to her to save the world. "Glass" is scheduled to open in theaters on January 18, 2019. Weekend Box Office: "Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse" family-friendly animated movie focusing on the Miles Morales character and his version of Spider-Man was number one with $35.4 million, "The Mule" the drug smuggling drama directed by Clint Eastwood was number two with $17.2 million, and Dr. Seuss' The Grinch the family-friendly CG animated movie featuring Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the main character was number three with $11.6 million.

                                                                                 

"Aquaman" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. Director James Wan brings to life the undersea kingdom of Atlantis a significant and major set piece for the origin story of one of the most underestimated heroes of the DC Universe. Starring Jason Momoa reprising his Justice League role as Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman protector of the ocean and King of Seven Seas. "Bumblebee" is scheduled to open in theaters on Friday. Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena in this prequel to the "Transformers" movie franchise set in 1987. When a teenager named Charlie brings home a VW Bug she finds in a junkyard she gets more than she bargained for. Reviving the Transformer named Bumblebee who was on the run and hiding out she finds herself drawn into a battle between two extraterrestrial factions that could decide the fate of the planet.

                                                                                

"Brightburn" is scheduled to open in theaters May 24, 2019. Producer James Gunn the visionary filmmaker behind "Slither" and Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" brings us a dark twist on the most recognized and iconic superhero origin story. Weekend Box Office: "Ralph Wreaks the Internet: Wreak-It Ralph 2" featuring the voice talents of John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman was number one with $16.1 million, Dr.Seuss' "The Grinch" featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character was number two with $15.17 million, and "Creed II" the sequel to the 2015 movie "Creed" starring Michael B.Jordan and Sylvester Stallone was number three with $10.3 million. 

                                                                             

"Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse" is scheduled to open theaters this Friday. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("The LEGO Movie", "21 Jump Street") create a unique animated vision in this newest addition to the Spider-Man mythos. When Brooklyn teen Miles Morales has a chance encounter with Spider-Man he learns that he has similar powers. Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Endgame" is scheduled to open in theaters April 2019. The highly anticipated follow-up to Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Infinity War" shows the state of the planet following The Avengers battle with Thanos. Broken and defeated the remaining heroes mourn their losses and seem to have all but abandoned hope. "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" is scheduled to open in theaters May 31, 2019. Weekend Box Office: "Bohemian Rhapsody" the biopic that details the meteoric rise of Freddie Mercury the frontman of the band Queen was number one with $50 million, Disney's "Nutcracker and the Four Realms" based on the classic tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann and starring Mackenzie Foy as Clara and Keira Knightley as The Sugar Plum Fairy was number two with $20 million, and "Nobody's Fool" from writer/director Tyler Perry and starring Tiffany Hadish and Tika Sumpter was  number three with $14 million.

                                                                                 

"The Girl in the Spider's Web" is scheduled to open theaters this Friday. Weekend Box Office: "Venom" starring Tom Hardy as Marvel's lethal protector was number one for a second week in a row with $35.7 million, "A Star is Born" the music-laden drama starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga was number two with $28 million, and "First Man" the Neil Armstrong biopic starring Ryan Gosling was number three with $16.5 million.

                                                                               

Marvel's "Daredevil" Season Three debuts on Netflix this Friday with all episodes available for streaming. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock a hard-hitting investigative reporter who while working on a story comes into possession of deadly secret and in turn becomes possessed by an alien symbiote. He soon realizes that his powerful new "guest" is deadly and intelligent and the only way to survive the ordeal is to co-operate. "Dark Phoenix" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 7. Marvel's "Daredevil" Season Three is scheduled to premiere on Netflix with all episodes streaming beginning October 19. Spoiler alert! Matt Murdock has survived the explosion and collapse of The Hand's skyscraper stronghold at the end of "The Defenders". The question remains how did he survive and how did he end up at in the care of the nuns? Did Elektra manage to survive, as well? "Venom" is scheduled to open in theaters on Oct.5. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock an investigative reporter that gets in over his head. He becomes infected with an alien symbiote during an investigation of the company his girlfriend works for and discovers it is both intelligent and dangerous. Disney's "The Nutcracker and The Four Realms" is scheduled to open in theaters on November 2. Inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann's classic tale "The Nutcracker" the movie centers around Clara (Mackenzie Foy) and her discovery that a golden thread, presented to her by her godfather Drosselmeyer (Morgan Freeman) at his annual Christmas party, leads to a golden key that unlocks the doorway into another world.
