Weekend Box Office:Disney's "Beauty and The Beast" the live action version of the beloved Disney animated movie was number one with $88.3 million, "Power Rangers" the updated version of the popular 90's television phenomenon was number two with $40.5 million, and "Kong: Skull Island" the classic movie monster, King Kong, re-imagined for a whole new generation was number three with $14.4 million. 

                                                                               

"Ghost in the Shell" opens in theaters this Friday. The internationally acclaimed manga by Masamune Shirow comes to life on the big screen as a live-action movie. The successful manga has spawned a popular anime series and more than a few anime films. This live-action big budget movie is directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Scarlett Johansson as The Major leader of the covert anti-terrorist unit known as Section 9. 

                                                                                   

                                           
"Justice League" is scheduled to open in theaters in November. Following the events of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" Bruce Wayne realizes that a team of heroes is needed to combat the very real threat he knows is headed their way. Together with his new ally, Diana Prince, he begins recruiting metahumans to form this team. However, their enemy may have the jump on them and that could spell doom,not just for the fledgling team,but the entire world.

                                                                            

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is scheduled for theaters on July 7. Tom Holland  stars as Spider-Man in his own solo movie following his debut in "Captain America: Civil War".He comes face to face with a threat that may be more than he can adequately handle alone in the form of The Vulture. With no support from the man he considers his role model, Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man, he sets to prove that he is indeed a hero regardless of the circumstances or the odds against him. 

                                                                       

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled to open in theaters on May 5. Director James Gunn's sequel to the highly successful Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" promises everything the original offered and much, much more. The team of Peter Quill a.k.a Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Baby Groot continue their adventures roaming through space and facing new threats. During the course of their adventures they encounter their biggest surprise of all, Peter Quill's father.

Weekend Box Office: Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" the live action version of the beloved animated movie was number one with  $174.8 million, "Kong: Skull Island" the epic re-imaging of King Kong was number two with  $29 million, and "Logan" starring Hugh Jackman as the adamantium enhanced claw wielding X-Man was number three with $17.5 million. 

                                                                               

"Power Rangers' opens in theaters this Friday. The big budget re-imagining of the now classic nineties television phenomenon explores the idea of "teenagers with attitude" who are thrown together by fate.Gifted with extraordinary powers they come together to protect their town and possibly save the entire world.

                                                                           
                                                                         

"Ghost in the Shell" is scheduled for theaters on March 31. Based on the internationally acclaimed manga by Shirow Masamune that spawned a number of anime movies and a popular anime series comes to life on the big screen. Starring Scarlett Johansson as The Major the leader of the elite covert anti-terrorist unit Section 9. The team is faced with an enemy that is hacking into people's minds and anyone can be a target. To make matters worst he reveals a game changing secret to The Major that will put her directly in the cross hairs of the people who turned her into a synthesis of human/cyborg.

                                                                       

"The Fate of the Furious" is scheduled for theaters on April 14. The latest installment of "The Fast and The Furious" franchise has Dominic Toretto turning on the one thing he loves more than fast cars---his family. When Dom suddenly and unbelievably betrays them and teams up with a mystery woman the whole team is shaken to their core.Now the team faces their toughest challenge as they take on the man who brought them all together and can drive circles around any one of them.

Weekend Box Office: "Kong: Skull Island" the re-imagining of the most famous of movie monsters King Kong was number one with $61 million, "Logan" starring Hugh Jackman as the adamantium laced, claw-wielding X-Man was number two with $37.8 million, and "Get Out" the breakout thriller by writer/director Jordan Peele was number three with $21 million.  
                                                                                

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled for June 2, 2017. Director Patty Jenkins brings the origin story of the Amazing Amazon to the big screen. Diana, princess of the Amazons has trained to be a fierce and invincible warrior on the secluded island paradise.The arrival of a downed American pilot on their shores bringing news of a war raging in the outside world convinces Diana to leave home in a quest to end the threat to the entire world. 

                                                                           
         

Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" the live action re-imagining of the beloved Disney animated movie opens in theaters this Friday. The movie stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as The Beast. Also starring,  Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as Lefou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts. 

                                                                           

"Power Rangers" is scheduled to open in theaters on March 24. The now classic television series about five ordinary teenagers who are granted extraordinary power comes to the big screen for a whole new generation. The five teens thrown together by fate discover that they have a new calling, as The Power Rangers. While they couldn't be more different they realize that their shared destiny is to stop an alien threat from destroying their town and perhaps, even the world.

Marvel's "Iron Fist" debuts this Friday on Netflix with all episodes streaming. The Final Defender arrives as indicated in the series trailer. The "Iron Fist" series  features the character who is the latest addition to the street level team of heroes known "The Defenders" which will debut later this year on Netflix. Danny Rand returns after being missing and presumed dead for fifteen years. He returns to save the company that bears his family name and to save the city from an evil that he has been trained for during his fifteen year absence.

Weekend Box Office: "Logan" starring Hugh Jackman as the adamantium enhanced, claw-wielding  X-Man was number one with $88.3 million, "Get Out" the horror/comedy/social commentary from writer and director Jordan Peele was number two with $28 million, and "The Shack"  faith-based movie based on the bestselling novel by William P. Young was number three with $16.1 million.

                                                                        

"Kong: Skull Island" re-imaging the King Kong story for a brand new generation.One of the most famous of all movie monsters begins a new adventure. This is the story of how Kong became king. Starring Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, and Samuel L. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" scheduled to open in theaters on May5. Chris Pratt returns as Peter Quill a.k.a. "Star-Lord" and his band of misfits allies Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Baby Groot know only as "The Guardians of the Galaxy". This time the adventure comes in the form of saving the universe once again from a threat as yet to be revealed, but they will have plenty of company to do it.

"Samurai Jack" returns after a long absence with a brand new season on Saturday March 11 at 11 pm on Adult Swim. Aku has done everything to prevent Jack from returning to the past. 50 years later and Jack has not aged, a side effect of Aku throwing him through time. Jack has lost his will to fight or even a sense of purpose.
