Weekend Box Office - "The Revenant" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy climbed its way into the number one spot with $16 million, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" climbed into the number two spot with $14.2 million, and "Ride Along 2" starring  Ice Cube and Kevin Hart held on at number three with $12.9 million.

"Suicide Squad" is easily one of the most anticipated movies of this year. The comic book series about a ragtag group of supervillains who have been coerced into working for the government. As part of a secret task force, they take part in covert missions in exchange for their freedom, with just one catch, the missions are so dangerous they're almost suicide. This movie is so bold an idea it's almost crazy enough to work and it already looks to be a bona fide hit. I can barely stop myself from re-watching this new trailer over and over again, and I can hardly wait until it hits theaters in August.

"Kung Fu Panda 3" opens in theaters this Friday. The long awaited follow up to "Kung Fu Panda 2" introduces us to Po's long-lost panda father and we get to see the secret panda village. It's not long before trouble rears its head in the form of the supernatural villain Kai. Who takes on the kung fu masters and then sets his sights on Po, as well as, the panda village.

"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is the latest of those unlikely books that became successful and have been made into movies. Jane Austen meets George Romero in what looks to be a witty and clever mash up of two movie genres. Definitely not the run of the mill period drama or zombie apocalypse film, but surprisingly the best of both worlds. Definitely not meant for purist, or the fainthearted.

Weekend Box Office - "Ride Along 2" starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube was the box office winner at number one with $34 million, "The Revenant" starring Leonardo DiCaprio in one of his most critically praised roles was number two with $29.5 million, and "Star War: The Force Awakens" held on at number three bringing in $25.1 million.

"The 5th Wave" starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Nick Robinson opens in theaters this Friday. Based on the series of books by author Rick Yancey the movie details the beginning of an apocalyptic alien invasion. Although not original, the movie looks promising and action packed based on the trailer.

"The Flash" returns tonight with a brand new episode. The episode entitled "Potential Energy" finds Barry ready to share his secret identity with his girlfriend, Patty. Unfortunately, he may that he waited too long for that to ever happen.

"Arrow" returns tomorrow night with a brand new episode. The episode entitled "Blood Debts" will resolve the mid-season cliffhanger, does Felicity survive the vicious attack at the end of that episode, or will she die. Based on what we've seen at the beginning of the season and in the trailer for this episode, it doesn't look promising for her.

DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" debuts this Thursday. A new show spinning off of both  "Arrow" and "The Flash" finds a motley crew of heroes and villains whose one purpose is to prevent a future where the immortal Vandal Savage becomes a world conquering dictator.

Weekend Box Office - "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" continues its box office reign at number one with $42.3 million, "The Revenant" starring Leonardo DiCaprio took the number two spot with $39.8 million, and "Daddy's Home" starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg was number three with $15 million.

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny" will open in IMAX theaters and on Netflix on February 26. The long awaited follow up to the original movie features the return of Michelle Yeoh who will be joined by Donnie Yen. Two of martial arts best superstars together in one movie. I'm already on board and the action looks quite awesome as well.

Marvel's "Daredevil" Season 2 is coming to Netflix on March 18. We can expect as much, or perhaps even more of the nitty, gritty vibe that season one had. Especially, since this season will see the introduction of The Punisher and Elektra, as well as, a few other rumored surprises planned for the show.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is one of the many superhero movies in what will be a year packed with our favorite comic book characters brought to the big screen. I am looking forward to seeing how closely this movie will follows the events of its predecessor "X-Men: Days of Future Past".

"Deadpool" the long awaited, highly anticipated movie featuring  the popular Marvel Comics character opens in theaters on February 12. A new trailer dropped on Christmas Day to much fanfare. The trailer reveals more of the over the top action and madcap humor that fans have come to expect from the character. Featuring Ryan Reynolds as the comic book character that fans actually wanted him to play. The movie promises to be complete with all the wisecracks, one liners, bizarre antics and almost non-stop chatter that are a staple for the hero popularly know as "The merc with a mouth".

"Ride Along 2" the sequel to the hit action comedy opens in theaters on January 15. Expect the more of the same wild and frenetic energy from Kevin Hart and the same laid back bad attitude from Ice Cube that made the original a hit. Of course, this time they're traveling to Miami and teaming up with two other detectives played by Olivia Munn and Ken Jeong. This promises to be quite entertaining.

"Hitman: Agent 47" based on the character from the video game series is available on Bluray/DVD. The movie follows the enigmatic, genetically enhanced Agent 47 as he goes after the people who are attempting to create soldiers through a program similar to the one that created him.

"Batman: Bad Blood" the DC Universe animated movie that follows "Batman vs. Robin" arrives in stores on February 2. The feature scheduled for release directly to Bluray/DVD reveals what happens to Gotham City after Batman disappears and is presumed dead at the hands of a new villain known only as The Heretic. The movie also explores what that means for his closest allies and how they cope in the wake of his absence and shoulder the burden of the responsibility he has left behind.
