Weekend Box Office: "The Meg" the action-thriller featuring Jason Statham doing battle against a 75-foot long prehistoric shark was number one with $44.5 million, "Mission Impossible: Fallout" featuring Tom Cruise as superspy Ethan Hunt was number two with $20 million, and Disney's "Christopher Robin" the family-friendly live action movie featuring Winnie the Pooh was number three with $12.4 million. 

                                                                                       

"Mile 22" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. The action-thriller from Peter Berg the director of "Lone Survivor" features Mark Wahlberg as an operative of a top-secret covert tactical unit. The unit, codenamed "Overwatch" must retrieve and transport an asset with vital information about an impending terrorist attack on the United States to the extraction point Mile 22 or die trying, which is exactly what will happen if they fail.

                                                                                   
                                                                                   

"Peppermint" is scheduled to open in theaters on September 7. Jennifer Garner stars as a woman who takes justice into her own hands after the system fails her. When her husband and young daughter are gunned down in an attack that leaves her in a coma. She wakes to find that her life as she knew it is over. When she is denied any semblance of justice she realizes that the system is being rigged to protect the guilty. She goes into hiding and transforms from citizen to urban guerrilla delivering her own personal brand of justice.

                                                                                  

"The House with a Clock in Its Wall" is scheduled to open in theaters on September 21. Director Eli Roth brings to life the beloved classic children's book written by John Bellairs and illustrated by Edward Gorey. A magical adventure filled with spine-tingling suspense the movie is produced and written by Eric Kripke (creator of TV's "Supernatural") and stars Jack Black, Kate Winslett, and Owen Vaccaro. Co-starring Kyle MacLachlan, Colleen Camp, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Vanessa Anne Williams and Sunny Suljic.

Weekend Box Office: "Mission Impossible: Fallout" the action-thriller featuring Tom Cruise as superspy Ethan Hunt was number one with $35 million; Disney's "Christopher Robin" the family-friendly live-action comedy featuring Winnie the Pooh was number two with $25 million; and "The Spy Who Dumped Me" the comedy action-thriller starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon was number three with $12.35 million. 

                                                                                    

"The Meg" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. Jason Statham and an international cast star in this action-thriller from director John Turteltaub (the "National Treasure" movies). The crew of an international undersea observation platform discovers that a 75-foot long prehistoric shark is alive and well and ready to turn the entire ocean into his feeding ground. They must find a way to stop the creature before it upsets the entire undersea ecosystem and threaten all life on the entire planet.


                                                                           

"Venom" is scheduled to open in theaters on October 5. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock, an investigative reporter willing to go the extra to break a story. Until one day he goes too far and becomes a part of the story he's investigating. Infected by a symbiote of extraterrestrial origin he begins to experience unusual symptoms. "The Death of Superman" is available starting today on Blu-ray/DVD. Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment present this feature-length animated movie re-imagined as part of the popular series of DC Universe animated movies. The Man of Steel meets his match when Doomsday brings all of his rage and destructive power to Earth. "Constantine: City of Demons" will be available on Blu-ray/DVD and Digital HD on October 9.
