"Guardians of the Galaxy" opens this Friday. I am belaboring the obvious by even referring to this film as the most anticipated movie of the summer. I will just direct you to the trailer and dispense with the commentary.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" is the latest Mad Max movie from George Miller who originated the character and the original trilogy. I don't know any more about this movie than what I see in the trailer, but it looks badass. I mean look at the stars of the movie Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Start your engines! Looks like you're in for a race for your life.

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" will arrive in theaters this December. That's all. What more needs be said. Need more? Consult the trailer.

Marvel's "Iron Man & Captain America: Heroes United" is a new animated feature from Marvel Studios. I know that it's available for Digital Download starting today. No word about DVD or Bluray for that matter. Here's a clip of what to expect.

Weekend Box Office - "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" was number one for the second week in a row with $36 million, "The Purge: Anarchy" the sequel to the movie "The Purge" came in at number two with $28.4 million, and at number three was Disney's "Planes: Fire & Rescue", the sequel to the family friendly Disney's "Planes" with $18 million.

"Hercules" starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hits theaters this weekend and it looks epic. Reminiscent of the classic sword and sandal Hercules movies, but chock full of action and jaw dropping special effects, this movie also explores the heart and soul of this classic hero.

"Lucy" starring Scarlett Johansson in the title role is the much anticipated movie from director Luc Besson. Known for his movies "La Femme Nikita", "The Professional", and "The Fifth Element" he brings us yet another iconic and kick ass female lead character. I'm already on board and if you're not yet, but you might be interested, check out this latest trailer.

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" opens in theaters in one week from this Friday and officially begins Phase 2 of the Marvel cinematic universe taking us into deep space with a team of misfits who come together to heroically save the universe. Looks like it will be wicked good fun.

"Exodus: Gods and Kings" is the upcoming movie from director Ridley Scott who gave us the movies "Alien", "Blade Runner", and "Gladiator" just to name a few. Now he brings his unique style of film making to the story of Moses. The movie features Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as Ramses. Here's a first look at the recently released trailer.

"Lucy" the upcoming movie starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman opens next week. The movie's plot has drawn comparisons to the movie "Limitless" starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. As if! The trailer alone reveals that the concept may be similar, but the two are in no way equals. Don't take my word for it. Check out the trailer and see for yourself.

"Batman: Attack on Arkham" is the latest DC Universe Animated feature that will be released on DVD/Bluray this August 12. This animated movie ties into the Arkham Asylum game series and not into the New 52 like "Justice League: War" and "Son of Batman". However, it was recently announced that there will be a preview of the next DC Universe Animated feature included on the disc for "Batman: Attack on Arkham". The preview will be of "Justice League: Throne of Atlantis" and it picks up after the events of "Justice League: War".

"Lucy" the sci-fi action film from Luc Besson director of "The Fifth Element" and "Le Femme Nikita" opens on July 25. I am looking forward to seeing this movie for a variety of reasons, especially since the movie's titular heroine is played by Scarlett Johansson.

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" opens on August 1, less than a month away. As we get closer to opening day we find out more and are shown more exciting scenes from the movie, as evidenced by the latest trailer. We also get a better look at the movie's main villains, Ronan the Accuser and Nebula. Rumor has it we'll get another cameo appearance by Thanos, much like the one at the end of "The Avengers".

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is the next big budget adaptation from "Transformers" director Michael Bay. The latest trailer can be seen in previews at showings of his latest movie "Transformers: Age of Extinction". Due to fan outrage after the release of the first teaser the look of the turtles seems to have been altered to more familiar facial features we recognize. This trailer also reveals the villainous Shredder in all his armored glory.

"Dracula Untold" starring Luke Evans as the legendary count is the latest version of the Dracula legend. The movie offers a look at the man and how he became a vampire and the reasons he choose this fate. The trailer features a unique version of a very famous eighties hit song that's almost unrecognizable from the original.

"Gotham" coming this fall on FOX is the about the city and people behind the Batman legend. It begins with the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne and the first meeting and beginning friendship between young Bruce Wayne and James Gordon a young police lieutenant two weeks on the job. This show will provide a first glimpse at many of the people who will become some of the most legendary characters in the Batman mythos.
