Weekend Box Office - "Gravity" starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock was number one for a second week with $44.27 million, "Captain Phillips" starring Tom Hanks was number two with $26 million, and "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" rounded out the top three with $14.2 million. Worth honorable mention simply because of its status as a sequel of a movie originally based on a phony trailer is "Machete Kills" which opened at a distant forth with $3.8 million. However, I'll bet that this movie is as much fun as its predecessor.
"Carrie" based on a book by Stephen King and made into movie starring Sissy Spacek back in 1976 is coming to theatres again this time starring Julianne Moore and Chloe Grace Moretz in the title role. The movie opens this coming Friday and we'll soon know if this version packs the same hard punches as the 1976 version.
"Thor: The Dark World" comes to theatres on Nov.8 and this movie will really highlight what happens to Loki and Thor after the events of "The Avengers". I am really looking forward to the movie and what it will reveal as we move towards the sequel of Marvel's "The Avengers".
"Toy Story of Terror" a Halloween inspired special premieres tomorrow night at 8 on ABC. Really, what more needs to be said, that already sounds like fun.
