Weekend Box Office - "Fault in Our Stars" starring Shailene Woodley was number one in it's opening weekend with $48 million, "Maleficent" starring Angelina Jolie came in at number two with $32 million, "Edge of Tomorrow" the sci-fi action film starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt came in third with $29.1 million.
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" is the highly anticipated sequel to "Rise of the Planet of the Apes". The movie which opens July 11 follows the struggle of Cesar and his group of genetically evolved apes and a band of human survivors as they struggle to live in peace, and the inevitable conflict that is brewing.
Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" which opens August 1 is part of the next wave in the Marvel cinematic universe. The expectation is that this will eventually lead to an Avengers/Guardians movie. Remember, we've already seen Thanos at the end of "The Avengers" movie and The Collector at the end of "Thor: The Dark World". Stranger things have happened, and even stranger will.
"Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition)" was teased months ago when Captain America's shield showed up in the commercial for "Disney Infinity". It was a highly anticipated move by Disney to bring the Marvel characters into the "Disney Infinity" game experience. They did not disappoint. The news spread like wildfire and here's the first offering in what will be the incorporation of the multitude of Marvel Universe characters into a growing Disney game franchise.
