Weekend Box Office - "Ant- Man" starring Paul Rudd as the tiny, yet mighty hero debuted at number one with $58 million, "Minions" the animated prequel to the "Despicable Me" franchise took the number two spot with $50.2 million, and debuting in the number three spot was "Trainwreck" starring comedian Amy Schumer which opened with $30.2 million.

"Fantastic Four" the upcoming big budget re-launch of the franchise featuring Marvel's iconic superhero first family debuts on August 7. Directed by Josh Trank who brought us the movie "Chronicle". This movie stars Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev/Doctor Doom. The latest trailer reveals more of what we can expect from this latest incarnation.

"Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation" will open in theaters on July 31. This is the showdown or maybe startup of the IMF vs. The Syndicate, an organization who is in almost every way their equals with very opposite agendas.

"Hitman: Agent 47" is the upcoming movie based on the popular video game franchise. The latest trailer reveals more than the previous trailers and is very action packed and even more jaw dropping. Looks quite promising!

"Justice League: Gods and Monsters" is already available for digital download and will be released on DVD/Blu-ray next week, Tuesday. The return of producer/director/artist Bruce Timm to an animated Justice League movie was big enough news by itself, but an all-new, all-different alternate universe version of the iconic characters Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman created a frenzy. This recent clip is an indication of what the fuss is all about.

"Vixen" an animated off-shoot of "Arrow" and "Flash" premiere on August 25 on the CW. This animated series will feature actors from both shows providing the voices of the animated versions of their characters and actress Megalyn Echikunwoke will provide the voice of Mari McCabe also know as Vixen. I wonder if this presents the possibility of a live action appearance for the character on one or both of the shows at a later date. That would be amazing!
