Weekend Box Office: "Night School" starring the comedic talents of Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart was number one with $28 million, "Smallfoot" the family-friendly animated movie was number two with $23 million, and "The House With A Clock In Its Wall" starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett was number three with $12.5 million.
"Venom" is scheduled to open in theaters this Fridays. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock a hard-hitting investigative reporter who while working on a story comes into possession of deadly secret and in turn becomes possessed by an alien symbiote. He soon realizes that his powerful new "guest" is deadly and intelligent and the only way to survive the ordeal is to co-operate. He soon finds out that he is actually enjoying himself in the process.
"Dark Phoenix" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 7. This first look at the X-Men movie in the new series that will tackle one of the most iconic storylines, Written and directed by Simon Kinberg and featuring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.
"Doctor Who" the new season begins Sunday, Oct. 7 on BBC America. Jodie Whittaker is the 13th Doctor in all new episodes with new companions, new worlds, and new enemies. An adventure like no other through all of time and space. Brilliant!
"Robin Hood" is scheduled to open on November 21. Robin of Loxley a war-hardened veteran of The Crusades and his Moorish commander return to wage a rebellion against corrupt English nobility. Starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin, and Jamie Dornan.
