Taylor Kitsch ( Friday Night Lights, X-men Origins: Wolverine) will play the title role in the new movie "John Carter" based on the character in the popular series of books by Edgar Rice Burroughs " John Carter, Warlord of Mars".
Warner Bros. unveiled a teaser trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises", the final installment in his Batman trilogy. The teaser ran before showings of "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows" and will be one of the many blockbuster movies scheduled for Summer 2012.
In related news, "Harry Potter and The Deathy Hallows" came in number one with a weekend box office total of 168 million dollars. Ironically, it broke the record previously held by "The Dark Knight". Having read the books I was impressed at how brilliantly they adapted them for the big screen and the ended the series in grand fashion. An outstanding finale for an an outstanding movie franchise.
"Captain America: The First Avenger" opens Friday. The movie stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America and features as cast that includes Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Sebastian Stan as James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, Tommy Lee Jones as Colonel Chester Phillips, Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt/Red Skull, Richard Armitage as Heinz Kruger, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine, Toby Jones as Dr. Armin Zola, Neal McDonough as Timothy "Dum Dum" Dugan, Derek Luke as Gabe Jones, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
Reportedly, after the credits roll on "Captain America: The First Avenger" there will be a teaser trailer for the upcoming "Avengers" movie due in Summer 2012.
The cover of the relaunched Superman comic not only reboots to number one, it also features a brand new version of the iconic costume. The redesigned costume is one of the more notable changes to take place during the DC Relaunch Event. I find myself wondering if this new costume will make a big screen appearance in the upcoming Superman movie "The Man of Steel". As much as I enjoy change, I feel the costume can be updated without damaging the classic appeal. Decide for yourself.
