Weekend Box Office - "The Expendables 2" was number one (dare I say it) with a bullet making $28.8 million, "The Bourne Legacy" came in number two making $17.0 million, and at number three "ParaNorman" with $14.0 million.
On a sad note the death of director Tony Scott June 21, 1944 - August 19, 2012. His movies just too name a few were "Top Gun", "The Hunger", "True Romance", "Days of Thunder", "Enemy of the State", "Man on Fire", "The Taking of Pelham One,Two, Three", and his last film "Unstoppable". The production company he shared with his brother director Ridley Scott, "Scott Free" produced popular television series like "Numbers" and "The Good Wife". He had a very clear vision of what he wanted to create on film and it usually was better than he even imagined. He was definitely a great creative talent and he will be sorely missed.
"The Avengers" sequel will open in theaters May 1, 2015. The sequel which will also be written and directed by Joss Whedon is already more highly anticipated than its predecessor. Especially, when you consider the rampant speculation regarding which new characters may make a surprise appearance in the next movie.
"Dredd" based on the British sci-fi comic book character is due in theatres in September 21,2012. The movie stars Karl Urban as the title character Judge Dredd, Olivia Thrilby as Judge Anderson, and Lena Headey as the ruthless drug lord Ma-Ma.
Just released on DVD is a movie that has been referred to as a high octane adrenaline rush. "The Raid: Redemption" is being hailed as one of the most amazing action movies ever made. Watch the trailer and you'll understand why.
