Weekend Box Office - The latest James Bond movie "Skyfall" owned the box office making $90 million in it's first weekend, "Wreck-it Ralph" was number two with $33 million, and at number three was the Denzel Washington action/drama "Flight" making $15 million.
Director Matthew Vaughn ("Kick Ass", "X-Men: The First Class") is rumored to be the front runner to direct the new Star Wars movies. There hasn't been official word yet but there is even speculation that this is the reason that he pulled out of the new X-Men movie. In related news, Michael Arndt, the Academy Award winning screenwriter for "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Toy Story 3" has been confirmed as the writer of the screenplay for Star Wars: Episode VII.
If you are unable to wait until 2015 for a Star Wars fix. I highly recommend "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" on Cartoon Network. This is no silly animated show for kids. This show is like the movie serials that first inspired George Lucas to make the original "Star Wars".
"The Amazing Spider-Man" is currently available on Bluray/DVD and a sequel is already in the works. The script is finished and production starts in February. Mark Webb will be returning as director. Sony Pictures has scheduled the sequel for May 2, 2014
If you haven't seen this trailer then you're in for a treat. This trailer blew me away when I first saw it and the idea of Brad Pitt in a zombie is intriguing. Why not, he's already played a vampire. Check out the trailer for "World War Z".
