Weekend Box Office - "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" based on the bestselling book and brought to life by Director Tim Burton was number one with $28.8 million, "Deepwater Horizon" based on the 2010 oil-rig explosion that resulted in the largest offshore oil spill in U.S. history was number two with $20.2 million, and "Magnificent Seven" Director Antoine Fuqua's version of the classic western movie was number three with $15.6 million.

Marvel's "Doctor Strange" opens in theaters on November 4. The newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe gives us the origin story of Marvel's Master of the Mystic Arts. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Dr. Stephen Strange. The cast includes Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong, Scott Adkins, with Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" opens in theaters this November. Author J.K. Rowling introduces us to the wizarding world of North America in the 1920's. Focusing on Newt Scamander a former Hogwart's student whose trip to New York takes an unexpected turn when some of the creatures held in his magical briefcase escape. Leading to chaos for the city and trouble for the wizard community who want their existence to remain a secret.

                                                                           

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will open in theaters in May 2017. Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is being pursued by ghost sailors led by Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). The only hope for Captain Jack is to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon. Needless to say, he need every bit of his fabled luck at a time when it seems to be in sort supply.

                                                                        

"The Flash" premieres a new season with brand new episodes tonight at 8 pm on the CW with "Arrow" premiering new episodes tomorrow night at 8 pm. Both shows headline the CW Network's DC Superhero lineup and appropriately welcome the newest member of that lineup "Supergirl" in a video entitled "Superhero Fight Club 2.0" 

                                                                       

"Supergirl" begins season two with new episodes beginning next Monday, Oct.10 on the CW. The new season will introduce to the series actor Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman. The move to the CW and the inclusion of The Man of Steel will lead to much anticipated team ups beginning with Superman and Supergirl, and even bigger and better team ups that span the various DC television series on the network . At least, that's the dream and expectation of all the fans that follow these shows.
