Weekend Box Office - "The Secret Life of Pets" the family friendly CG animated movie from the studio behind the "Despicable Me" movies was number one for the third week in a row with $50.8 million, "Ghostbusters" the reboot of the 80's hit movie from director Paul Feig debuted at number two with $46 million,and "The Legend of Tarzan" starring Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie held on at number three with $11.4 million.

"Star Trek: Beyond" opens on Friday. This latest installment of the rebooted movie franchise is brought to us by director Justin Lin ("The Fast and Furious" franchise) and producer J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek","Star Wars: The Force Awakens"). Captain Kirk and the crew of the Starship Enterprise encounter an alien threat unlike anything they have previously encountered that challenges their very will to survive and tests their beliefs in the very principles of The Federation.

                                                                                     
                                       

"Suicide Squad" opens in theaters on August 5. The cinematic version of the popular DC comic book of the same name. A team of supervillains are recruited by a top secret U.S.Government agency to undertake covert missions. They are offered reduced prison sentences if they succeed, however the missions are so dangerous that success seems impossible and their survival is unlikely at best. 

                                                                          

"The Magnificent Seven" is scheduled to open in theaters on September 23.  The movie is a re-imaging of the hit 1960 movie of the same name which was based on the highly celebrated director Akira Kurosowa's classic film "Seven Samurai". Directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day","The Equalizer") and featuring Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D' Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Martin Sensmeier. "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" Ultimate Edition is available in stores today. This version which was made available to download in Digital HD on June 28 is now  available on Blu-Ray/DVD. This is the uncut director's version of the theatrically released movie which would've garnered an R-rating in the theaters.

                                                                            
"Batman: The Killing Joke" is coming to theaters for one night only on July 25 before being released on Blu-ray/DVD. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this long awaited animated adaptation of the critically acclaimed graphic novel by writer Alan Moore and artist Brian Bolland on the big screen.

Weekend Box Office - Disney/Pixar's "Finding Dory" the long awaited sequel to "Finding Nemo" was number one with $72.9 million, "Independence Day:Resurgence" the sequel to the 1996 hit movie "Independence Day" debuted at number two with $41 million, and "Central Intelligence" the action/comedy starring Kevin Hart and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was number three with $18.2 million.

Weekend Box Office -  Disney/Pixar's "Finding Dory" the long awaited sequel to "Finding Nemo" was the number one movie with $135 million, "Central Intelligence" the action/comedy starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart debuted at number two with $35.5 million, and "The Conjuring 2" based on the files of renowed real life demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren was number three with $14.8 million.


                                                                             

"Independence Day: Resurgence" opens in theaters this Friday. The sequel 20 years in the making features the grudge match of the century. The aliens return to settle the score on the anniversary of their defeat at the hands of the human race. Weekend Box Office - "The Conjuring 2" based on the files of real life renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren was number one with $40.3 million, "Warcraft" based on the popular "World of Warcraft" online game was number two with $24.3 million "Now You See Me 2" the sequel to the sleight of hand laden "Now You See Me" was debuted at number three with $23 million.

                                                                                

Disney/Pixar's "Finding Dory" opens this Friday. Dory the blue and yellow tang with short term memory loss remembers her parents. "The Legend of Tarzan" opens in theaters on July 1. The movie is directed by David Yates and starring Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan/John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke  and Margot Robbie as Jane Porter. "The Purge: Election Year" opens on July 1. All the negative publicity is turning into a free advertising win for Sony.
