Only one episode left before the May 13 series finale of Smallville. Based on the description on the CW website the episode entitled "Prophecy" is going to be a doozy. Clark (Tom Welling) takes Lois (Erica Durrance) to The Fortress to get Jor-El's blessing (voiced by Terrance Stamp) for their marriage. Jor-El bestows a unique wedding gift on the couple - he gives Lois Clark's super powers so she can see what it's like to be him for a day. Unfortunately, the Toyman (guest star Chris Gauthier) has returned to Metropolis, so Lois must go up against the notorious villain instead of Clark. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) searches for the Bow of Orion, which he believes will remove the Omega symbol from his skull, and runs into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort), who is also on a mission to stop Darkseid. If you don't think that sounds exciting you may need to check your pulse to see if you're still alive.
With the opening of the movie Thor on May 6 and Captain America: The First Avenger on July 22 the two final pieces of the puzzle fall into place setting the stage for next year's major movie release The Avengers. Already in production, the movie boasts an incredible cast and crosses over five major Marvel superhero movies Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America. The movie is being directed by Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dollhouse) who also wrote the screenplay. Once attached to a potential Wonder Woman movie, Whedon left due to creative differences with the studio on his vision for the character. Their loss. The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. The cast of super heroes will be joined by Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgard, who will both reprise their respective roles as Loki and Professor Erik Selvig from Thor. The movie set for release on May 4, 2012 will be the first feature to be fully owned, marketed, and distributed by Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009

Captain America: The First Avenger opens on July 22. The movie was directed by Joe Johnston (Jumanji, The Wolfman). The cast includes Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Hugo Weaving/Johann Schmidt, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Stanley Tucci as Abraham Erskine, and Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips. If you haven't seen the trailer I highly recommend you check out the trailer which I've included in this post. The movie takes place during World War II and ties in to next summer's The Avengers.

My "you've got to be kidding me moment" was when a friend of mine told me there was going to be a serious version of "Teen Wolf" the 1985 movie starring Michael J. Fox. My jaw dropped when I saw the trailer and found out that it was going to be a series that will premiere June 5 on MTV following the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.
