Weekend Box Office.  "Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" the sequel movie featuring Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks reprising their voice roles from the first movie was number one with $34.4 million; "What Men Want" the comedy starring Taraji P. Henson was number two was $19 million, and "Cold Pursuit" the revenge-driven action thriller starring Liam Neeson was number three with $10.8 million. 

                                                                                

"Alita: Battle Angel" is scheduled to open in theaters this week. Producer James Cameron and director Robert Rodriguez bring the classic anime movie character Alita to the big screen. This big screen adaptation of the anime movie which is based on the graphic novel ("manga") series: "Gunnm" by Yukito Kishiro and adapted into a screenplay by James Cameron, Laeta Kalogridis, and Robert Rodriguez. Starring Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keean Johnson.

                                                                                         
                                                                       

"Shaft" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 14. This action comedy is the bridge that connects this iconic character past, present, and future. Bringing together three generations 1970s Shaft in the form of original actor Richard Roundtree, Samuel L. Jackson from the 2000 movie "Shaft", and introducing John Shaft Jr. played by Jessie T. "Justice League vs. The Fatal Five" is scheduled for release on Digital HD beginning March 30 and 4K HD, Bluray/DVD on April 16. Kevin Conroy, George Newbern, and Susan Eisenberg reprise their voice roles from the "Justice League: Animated Series as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman respectively. This DC Universe animated feature has the Justice League facing off against The Fatal Five, a team of supervillains from the 31st century

Weekend Box Office: "Glass" starring Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, and James McAvoy  reprising their characters from previous M.Night Shyamalan films was number one with $9.5 million; "The Upside" starring Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, and Nicole Kidman was number two with $8.8 million, and "Miss Bala" the drug cartel action drama starring Gina Rodriguez debuted at number three with $6.7 million.

                                                                               

"Hobbs & Shaw" is scheduled to open in theaters on August 2. Director David Leitch ("Deadpool 2") helms this spinoff from the "Fast and Furious" franchise. Starring Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Stratham as Deckard Shaw reprising their roles from the blockbuster movie franchise. These two former enemies must now work together to stop a villainous anarchist intent on releasing a deadly biological weapon that can irrevocably change the entire human race.

Marvel Studios "Avengers: Endgame" is scheduled to open in theaters on April 26. Following the catastrophic events of "Avengers: Infinity War", the surviving heroes are dealing with the aftermath of Thanos' actions. As the world tries to move on the heroes work on any way possible of undoing the decimation and overcome loss and restore all the lives lost back to the universe and undo what Thanos did.

                                                                                  

Marvel Studios "Captain Marvel" scheduled to open in theaters on March 8. Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel in the origin story of one of the most powerful superheroes and the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The introduction of a brand new chapter to the MCU that unveils a secret history. Also featuring Samuel L. Weekend Box Office: "Glass" from director M. Night Shyamalan which brings together characters from two of his highly successful movies "Unbreakable" and "Split" was number one with $19 million  The Upside" the comedy-drama starring Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, and Nicole Kidman was number two with $12.2 million  "Aquaman" from director James Wan and starring Jason Momoa as the aquatic DC Comics superhero was number three with $7.25 million.

"Dark Phoenix" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 7. Director Simon Kinberg gives us a more faithful adaptation of one of the most iconic X-Man storylines from the Marvel Comics series. While on a rescue mission in space, Jean Grey is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Surviving the experience, the force makes her more powerful as well as making her unstable. "Reign of the Superman" is available in stores today on Bluray/DVD and available for download on Digital. The DC Universe animated feature that follows the previously released animated feature "The Death of Superman". "Spider-Man: Far from Home" is scheduled to open in theaters July 5. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker and his alter ego Spider-Man. The new movie in the Spider-Man: Homecoming series finds Peter Parker joining his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. "SHAZAM!" Is scheduled to open in theaters on April 5. Starring Asher Angel as Billy Batson and Zachary Levi as his adult alter ego the superhero SHAZAM. This DC superhero movie is the origin story of 14-year-old foster kid Billy Batson who through an encounter with the Wizard Shazam grants him the magic word that transforms him into a superpowered adult. When Billy becomes The World's Mightiest Mortal he is granted with extraordinary superpowers and is still a kid at heart. 

                                                                                 


"John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" is scheduled to open in theaters May 17. The highly anticipated follow up to "John Wick: Chapter 2" has John being hunted by scores of assassins coming for the $14 million price tag on his head. Weekend Box Office: "The Upside" the feel-good comedy starring Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, and Nicole Kidman was number one with $19.5 million; "Aquaman" from director James Wan and starring Jason Momoa as the often underestimated aquatic superhero was number two with $17 million; and "A Dog's Way Home" the family-friendly movie adapted from a novel by W, Bruce Cameron was number three with $11.3 million

                                                                                

Marvel's "The Punisher" Season Two premieres this Friday on Netflix with all episodes available for streaming. Jon Bernthal continues to shine as Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher, a role that originally began with the character's debut in Marvel's "Daredevil" Season Two. Frank has put being The Punisher aside and is just trying to live his life. However, a girl in the worst kind of trouble with some dangerous people prompts him to return to action and take up the fight once again. Dealing out his unbridled brand of vigilante justice and forcing criminals to run for their lives or face his wrath. 

                                                                                      
                                                                             

"Reign of The Superman" is available on Digital HD today and in stores on Bluray/DVD on January 29. The sequel to the 2018 DC Universe animated movie "The Death of Superman" takes place six months after the climactic battle between Superman and Doomsday. The world is still mourning the loss of Superman and uncertain about the four would be replacements vying for his title. Weekend Box Office:  "Aquaman" from director James Wan and starring Jason Momoa in a film based on the popular DC Comics superhero was number one with $67.4 million; Disney's "Mary Poppins Returns" the follow up to the classic Disney movie "Mary Poppins" and starring Emily Blunt was number two with $22.2 million "Bumblebee" the prequel movie to the "Transformers" movie franchise  was number three with $21 million.

                                                                                 

"Men In Black: International" is scheduled to open in theaters Summer 2019. Director F. Gary Gray continues the "Men in Black" movie franchise. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson star in this latest entry in the series that was originally inspired by the Malibu comic book series by Lowell Cunningham. "Hellboy" is scheduled to open in theaters April 12, 2019. Based on the Dark Horse comic book series by Mike Mignola when an evil sorceress bent on revenge goes on the attack, Hellboy will bring the fight to her to save the world. Weekend Box Office: "Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse" family-friendly animated movie focusing on the Miles Morales character and his version of Spider-Man was number one with $35.4 million, "The Mule" the drug smuggling drama directed by Clint Eastwood was number two with $17.2 million, and Dr. Seuss' The Grinch the family-friendly CG animated movie featuring Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the main character was number three with $11.6 million.

                                                                                 

"Aquaman" is scheduled to open in theaters this Friday. Director James Wan brings to life the undersea kingdom of Atlantis a significant and major set piece for the origin story of one of the most underestimated heroes of the DC Universe. Starring Jason Momoa reprising his Justice League role as Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman protector of the ocean and King of Seven Seas. "Bumblebee" is scheduled to open in theaters on Friday. Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena in this prequel to the "Transformers" movie franchise set in 1987. When a teenager named Charlie brings home a VW Bug she finds in a junkyard she gets more than she bargained for. Reviving the Transformer named Bumblebee who was on the run and hiding out she finds herself drawn into a battle between two extraterrestrial factions that could decide the fate of the planet.

                                                                                

"Brightburn" is scheduled to open in theaters May 24, 2019. Producer James Gunn the visionary filmmaker behind "Slither" and Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" brings us a dark twist on the most recognized and iconic superhero origin story.
